ClubLloyds Current a/c

I have searched the posts, honest, but still have a Q pl for you kind people.

Can I have more than one a/c ? 3 ?

They need 2 ddm's. I have these spare in a Tesco Internet Saver. These will be acceptable I think. I intend to merely upgradean existing Lloyds current account. How do I get the 2 ddms into the upgraded Lloyds Club.? Do I have to switch the Tesco a/c in its entirety, or can they merely take the 2 ddms from Tesco ?

(The idea is to leave the T I S to create more ddms for the future

Thanks

Customers may hold a maximum of one account with Club Lloyds benefits (either a Club Lloyds account or an Added Value current account with a Club Lloyds benefit package) in their sole name and one in joint names.

Hi My wife has one in her name and wants a joint, but, I'm a taxpayer, she isn't.Do they split interest as other banks do with R85? Cannot see it in T & C's
Also I see it can be done online, but was told it had to be via phone or branch.?

    Hi castle96,

To satisfy the credit interest criteria on the account, the two Direct Debits that must be paid each month need to be through two separate Direct Debit mandates. They can be to the same recipient (e.g. Tesco), but they must appear as two separate mandates on your account (i.e. the Direct Debits will both show within the Direct Debit list on Internet Banking).

I'm not familiar with how the Direct Debit for the Tesco Internet Saver works, but it may use just the one mandate to debit money from your Club Lloyds account. Another forum user may be able to shed some light on that for you. If it is the case that only the one mandate is used, that Direct Debit alone being taken twice a month won't fulfil the criteria for the credit interest.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Hi joe134,

Yes, in the case of a joint account where one party is registered to receive gross interest and the other party isn't, the tax on the interest is halved.

    I hope this helps,

    thanks

the ddms are shown as 2 separate amounts on 2 separate dates, each for £1,, from Tesco Internet a/c to Santander (ie both a/cs in my name). So this will be OK then ?

Cannot upgrade online with this a/c ("error......"). Can I do in branck ? Or must I ring 0845 3000 000 (or maybe you have a freephone No ?)

    thanks

It's certainly possible to open a Club Lloyds account online and, when making the application, we have a process in place for adding a joint party to the account.

To do that, just apply for the account through our website. When filling out the application, it'll be completed as a sole application. However, when you get to stage 5 (the confirmation page), there'll be an option to click to take you to the joint account process. If the prospective joint party is present then they can enter their details and follow the onscreen steps. If they're not present, we can issue an email & SMS to them with info on how to complete their details within 30 days.

Once the above steps have been completed, we'll send the person/account holder who initially applied for the account a one time password by post. There'll be a web address on the letter and the one time password should be entered there. The account holder can then approve joint status of the account.

    Thanks,

    Craig
