I want to replace my Barclaycard

Options
Good Morning All

I used to have an Egg credit card and was very happy with it until Barclays came and took it over.

The statement date is no longer on a fixed date eg. 13 of the month and also the payment of the direct debit 'floats' about. With Egg I knew when the cut off for that periods spending was and also the direct debit was taken on the 1st of each month.

I pay in full the statement balance.

Can anyone suggest a card (Visa/Mastercard) that has no annual fee, a fixed statement date and able to specify a preferred date for the direct debit? Cashback would be preferable but not a deal breaker.

Cheers

Dave

The exact date payment is taken varies because of non banking days. Other than that it remains fixed. This will be the same with any other credit card so I wonder what benefit you would get by changing?
  • I have a Barclay owned credit card, and I think they are pretty fair. I also have great reward benefits.
  • Your statement date will never always be the same, I also don't see how this is that big of a deal. With BarclayCard I phoned them up and asked to change my statement/payment date to be around my payday. They gave me like a 4-5 day range when they would be due, and they let me set it all so the earliest it could be was the day after my payday.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.
