There are multiple issues, I am not focused on the link, its the way they went about subsequently contacting people I in good faith put forward. Not expecting replies to this as its getting a little technical now.0

Its the technical stuff that is applicable though.
Herre is a run down what happened as I see it
1) you refer your friends (tick)
2) your friends recieve email from topcashback with referral link(tick)
3) your friends sign up just by going to the topcashback website and NOT through the referral link (Cross)
4) you have taken upbridge at TCB for not giving you your money(tick)
5) TCB have not done wrong and you need to be angry at your friends (tick)Dont rock the boat

Yes they were duped you are correct. They did not 'just go to the website' they replied to a reminder form TCB. That isn't right in my book.0

But the reminder obviously worked, otherwise you wouldn't be here complaining.
I can see why TCB send out the reminders :-
Sign ups via referral link - 0/4
Sign ups via reminder email - 4/4
Makes good business sense to me.0 -
Its about conduct. I for one would not gazzump a customer who had merely a few days earlier spent time to get them on board by using an email I had no right to use. Do you not agree that's poor practice even if a clever move to dupe the new contact into NOT using my link. It's not an argument, they have lost the faith of all the users I put forward - and they are not being fed this by me, its just poor.
If you really feel that way start your own as competition. There are white label providers to easily help you get started.

maybe its me reading this wrong but OP is saying that they gave the person the referral link and then without signing up to topcashback, the person received an email from topcashback asking them to sign up. if this is the case the person must have provided topcashback with their email address somewhere or they wouldn't have been able to send the second email. if they have provided the email address then topcashback should pay the referral fee unless the terms say they must fully open the account.0

TCB would have got the email from the person who sent in the referrals in the first place. As they didnt use the referral link within a set time then TCB requested them to sign up again which they can because they want the business.
the only people here at fault are the OPs friends.Dont rock the boat

For the record, we have now established 2 technical issues which may have effected many users. They have identified (or admitted depending on your view) what I had been saying for months. So after all the comments, the principles have been agreed, the reminder email 'should' have always been linked to me and wasn't which they denied, we are now using this as a case study as it has evolved to 4 technical issues. Shame they didn't deal with this a few months ago when I explained the issues.
I am awaiting settlement as so far I have now been accredited 7 users from TCB when we started this thread it was 1!!!!
But those who believe you should just let things go, that's up to you. Me, I'd rather see ALL users get what they are meant to and hopefully after this the issues will be resolved.
Good to see a lively response though ;-)0 -
This thread is a car crash. The OP can't admit that their contacts aren't savvy enough and they've missed out on a fortune. Hilarious.0
