The garage is surely under no obligation to repair the damage, it was a used car, and so you could not expect it to be immaculate. If you had bought new, then possibly, if you could prove the damage was there on purchase you may get somewhere, but otherwise, this will purely be down to their goodwill.

read your terms you signed , im sure there will be something about accepting it with dents and scratches or words to that effect

that said they may offer to sort it or offer trade rates, worth asking, good luck

I've worked at quite a few car dealerships and this sounds like the perfect example of somebody that has bought a USED car but expects it to be brand new condition..

Brand new condition at an 18 month old price. You can't have it both ways. Did you expect the mileage to be on zero too?

I bought my 4 year old Mazda 2 from a main dealer a couple of years ago. Not long after I noticed a dent in the rear arch and several small chips/marks in the paintwork. I should have noticed the dent but the paintwork issues were being hidden by T-cut or similar.

I just put it down to experience, just wish I'd have spotted them all before purchase, may have got the price down a bit more.

Well worth asking the dealer though OP, hopefully they'll want your return custom in the future (although I've not found a dealer with that mindset yet).

I can't believe how quick some people are to jump down my throat! I certainly was not thinking it's a brand new car etc etc, I asked a question - calm down!!!!

Just as an update to those genuine people, the garage are going to repair as a good will gesture.
