It's just a scare tactic. Presumably this tory MP feels that people value their house prices over and above any reason they may have voted UKIP.
Bit desperate really.
Seems to be reaching out with the suggestion "Vote for me and we'll keep house prices high".
The question is: Why would house prics fall if they voted a UKIP MP in? Theres not a single, decent reason other than making stuff up on the cuff.
They may aswell say "chickens will stop laying eggs if you vote UKIP" as it's qually as pathetic.0 -

I'm not racist but I wouldnt really want a UKIP voter as a neighbour.0 -
70% of households in this country are owners, which means that 70% of the population wants property prices go up are at least not go down, which means that all political parties want the same.
As to "Why would house prices fall if they voted for an UKIP MP?":
Well I think that anyone who is not a right wing extremist (which I think still makes it the majority) might give a second thought before moving into a constituency that has produced evidence that many people there might be.0 -

making a big assumption all homeowners want their property to increase.....
I'm a homeowner and want prices to go to something more reasonable and affordable. I'd be happy with the old 3 times income!0 -

Just need priced out, aspiring homeowners to act on this and that might be a fair few votes he wont be getting! Problem is people don't seem to vote much these days...0 -

I'd be happy if prices didn't rise or even drop slightly but the "old 3 times income is a myth"0 -

No it doesn't....
There are a few homeowners on this small section of the forum who want house prices to fall.
Extrapolate that, and you'll find there are lots of worried parents who want house prices to fall as it would be beneficial for their children.
Not everyone had a landlord mindset.0 -
Thanks Graham. I don`t care a fig about houses falling in value. I have my house and due to a divorce in the family my wife and i have bought into her sisters house where we are moving to. Now i am a reluctant landlord on my original property.
Amazingly, this close to London property has rocketed. It was pointed out to me that i have made a " profit ". What profit. We are going to live in it.
All the time my young `uns are paying more on rent and further away from ever owning. Bah, sometimes i just want to say to the house prices junkies to grow up and think beyond this dumb argument.0
