When the CD opened up iTunes its because when you put a CD in a screen pops up saying to you want to play it in iTunes, Windows Media Player etc and theres a box which you can click which does this if they do it again in the future so one time you friend would of clicked this.

The main thing you have to make sure is that Auto-Sync is turned off on the iTunes otherwise when you plug your iPod into the computer it will put all the songs which are in the Library onto the iPod and you might not want all these and it will replace the songs on your iPod. Make sure its on Manually manage and you can drag what music you want across. When you iPod is plugged into iTunes you if you click the name you have called it you will see a box to click to manually manage the iPod.

Like sra says you don't need to create a new user account that will slow the computer dow. I run four iPods off one PC :)

Thank you to everyone for replying.

Not being very good at this sort of thing, it still confuses me. Will have to pop down to Currys or Dixons to get one and see if they can put in idiot terms......which seems highly likely with the staff they have. :D

Unfortunately although they may explain things in layman terms it's quite likely the information will be completely incorrect. I'm not exaggerating when I say I can't remember a time I went to a Currys or Dixons etc and got useful/correct information from them.
