I left and got the bonus as there was no interest in the current account and I needed instant access to my money so couldn't lock it away in the regular saver.
I have now returned (about a year later) as I have gathered up a bit more money and have the funds for the regular saver.
There was no issue with being a returning customer other than it had to be by phone and not online.Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
I did this with first direct. £125 for joining and £100 for leaving. Their internet banking was naff in my opinion. Used that as the reason to leave.
I'm with the Cumberland bs having lived in Cumbria and I won't leave them.0 -

Then why did you join FD? Sounds like even if you did like their internet banking you wouldn't have stayed.0 -
Yes true I have been rumbled.
My sole reason for going with FD was to make £225. But I have no moral compass when it comes to banks and these offers.
I see it as cash to be taken. I have just done the Coop offer and will be moving on to the YB/CB offer. I have done Halifax already and the M&S offer. It was M&S I dumped for Coop.0 -
I thought you needed a real grievance to claim the £100 leaving money, more than just being unhappy with the account.
For me the 6% regular saver over the long run is the better option.0 -

Am i right in thinking you can only have the regular saver for 12 months though?
After a year the account ceases to be a regular saver. Are you allowed to just open a new one once it does though?0 -

You can open a new one as soon as the previous one ends.0 -

But that's just for new money. You can't get 6% on the money that was in the first one once it has finished.0 -

I.e. "I'd like the £100 leaving bonus, thank you very much!"0 -
Hi, Just on this - I called to say I was moving banks and had started the switching process. The advisor put me on hold for about 10 minutes and said that's ok the payment will be in you account on or around the switch date, failing that if it was after it would go to my new bank. They did not even ask my new banks details other than who the bank was or switching dates etc, is this how it is? I thought they would need the switching start date details, completion date, new bank details e.g. sort code and acc number? Basically I'm not sure if the advisor was just fobbing me off so if someone can confirm who has done this? Thank you0
