hi im wanting to change internet provider im currently with orange have been for the past 3 years. Anyway i want someone who can offer me wireless broadband as i have 2 pcs that i need to connect to the internet. Who does everyone think is the best wireless broadband provider?
Also how do i go about cancelling my orange connection, have never cancelled and swapped provider before. Can i leave orange and go straight onto another provider on the same day or do i have to leave it a few days?
Thanks

Just ask for your MAC, and give it to your new provider ... if you already have wireless equipment, then you can go with any ISP you want, or, if the ISP you want to go with does not offer wireless equipment - then you can buy your own, and use it with your chosen broadband package0

In theory the changeover can happen the same day. In practice, possibly not.
But you don't need to change. It's probably much less hassle to just buy a wireless router - a decent one can be had for less than £30.0 -

In that case the router is either broken, the wrong type, not configured correctly.
As stated above ISP has no bearing on whether you can set up wireless or not.
How do you connect to internet now? What make/model wireless router did you try?
If you currently use something like a USB modem you will need a wireless modem/router.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -
Split your issue into 2 elements.
1. Get the connection to the interweb working using a cable to the router.
2. Get the wireless connection working0 -

At the moment i connect to broadband through a usb modem. Its quite small about the size of a wallet with 2 green lights. This is the wireless router that i tried:

the wireless router looks ok to me - did you manage to connect the wireless dongle to your computer so that you could detect the modem?
or have you tried connecting your computer to the modem via networking cable (cat 5e or cat 6)?
if you did, did you sucessfully manage to get to the admin page? usually this is something like http://192.168.0.1 - then you would have to log in - these details should be made available to you somewhere in the packaging
once logged in you configure the modem so it connects to your ISP, press the connect button - then the modem will be connected to broadband 24/7 unless you power it off, but powering it back up will auto connect back to broadband
you do not need to connect to broadband like you would with a usb modem, or when using dial-up - it'll just be a case of turning your computer on, and you will be online straight away0 -
