More evidence of nasty split

Where in London and the South east properties are gaining at a massive speed there is another side.

Now this is totally not acceptable and the problem is growing. I am guessing this is the thin edge of the wedge.

In my opinion, we are approaching a time where we need to take a radical step in how this country is being run.

Maybe we can start thinking that we are not some Victorian world power. Yea, spend a packet on murdering women and kids and for what? Having an economy, which I believe , is still based on huge debts but you are doing great if your house keeps increasing in value.

Successive governments have got us into this mess. Sadly there is little to choose between them. Tories with a blue badge, Labour with a blue badge and Lib Dems like little lap dogs.

The world is changing in a way that is rapid. Maybe we all have to adjust to this. Maybe we have to inject some love into the world. Seems that is a better plan than continuous growth. Maybe we should stop and think. Now that would be a nice change.

Any one that has known me here knows that I am a baby boomer and has been most fortunate in that. Don`t ever think that is a likely situation that will occur again.

To move forward we really do need to rethink.

People seem to think that £10 here or there to Children in Need or Comic Relief etc clears their personal conscience. Consumerism has created a very uncaring culture. Where I comes first. Everything else is another persons problem to deal with.

I should come before you, trouble is some are too 'lazy' or dependant upon others doing stuff for them, they are often the ones with all the excuses but never the effort.
I'm not saying that is all the cases, but sadly in those that I come across, it is the majority.

With all the investigative powers at their disposal the BBC could have researched a few children's parents to establish what income/benefits were received and how it was spent.

    Curiously, they chose not to.

Very true, but as said, the ones I come across are all too willing to want some sugar partner and keep up with the Jones' .

Still doesn't alter the facts, these are children whether their parents are property rich and/or cash poor.

Kids Company describe the problem pretty succinctly on their website

    ABOUT US

Kids Company was founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996. We provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children.

Our services!reach 36,000 children across London, Bristol and Liverpool, including the most deprived and at risk whose parents are unable to care for them due to their own practical and emotional challenges. For many, the roles of adult and child are reversed and, despite profound love, both struggle to survive.

I think that the question here needs to be, why are so many families struggling despite the massive resources thrown at them. Maybe we should be looking at more practical help and less chucking money at the problem in the hope that it goes away.

Mostly a question of crack and heroin drug abuse. We need to reconsider prohibition and how it's not working as well as a system that pays people to not work and criminalises them if they do work.

I would advise weak marijuana and MDMA available on prescription and with the massive profits offer a new system of work and benefits that includes everyone and provides a sense of responsibility and belonging to all citizens, especially the least educated. Perhaps end benefits entirely and instead a citizens wage if volunteering with a registered organisation ( of which that role must help the general public in some important way).

I would also include free boarding schooling available for the most troubled families to break the cycle of harm and adopt a system of immigration that is more selective on skills and abilities of new comers and start employing finger print or eye scanners to police this and to permanently tag and monitor prolific offenders so they no longer can commit crime without easily being caught due to exact location technology.

To try to put to rest fears of big brother a 'freedom of the people's act' should also be written to protect the freedom of normal citizens from such technology as well as enshrining some real protection to the freedom of the Internet for UK citizens for ever more.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.
