Haven't posted for a while as my father is ill. Everything's going in the right direction though...0

Well done on getting your debt so low! Not long and it will be gone completely! Hope your father is better now xDebt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,435.00

Thank you Twiggy. He's made a remarkable recovery and will be out of hospital within a couple of weeks. No excuses for not focussing on the money-saving anymore. My parents are masters at it but I wish I'd realised it sooner. I grew up thinking we had money - little did I know that they could make £1 do the work of £2!0

Good day today.
- We went for a walk - healthy and free.
- DH "bought" socks and underwear with an M&S voucher we were given.
- Diesel from S'burys came with 10 times more Nectar points than usual.
- Washing and drying done.
- Cooked tea - no Saturday night takeaway,
I actually enjoy winter so I love the autumnal feel and the way the nights are drawing in. Easier to save money by staying in and cuddling cats on the sofa!0 -
Although I haven't been up in the loft for a while, I'm still trying to keep the house de-cluttered and as clear as possible. This sometimes gives me an MSE dilemma - how much should I stockpile? I love finding the best price for the things we use regularly but I'm trying to only buy the amount we'll get through before the offer comes around again. So, today, I resisted the temptation to buy more than one large box of washing powder. One box officially does 40 washes and I probably do 2 washes a week, 3 occasionally. So a box probably lasts at least 15 weeks - that's nearly 4 months. I'm sure there'll be another offer along before then. When we found an unbeatable offer on our preferred loo roll we bought a lot as they fit nicely in the airing cupboard. As I get rid of stuff we don't need, there might be more room to store things but I would still like a feeling of space rather than clutter.
MSE today:
- small shop (good deal on steak, washing powder and salad stuff).
- sorted fridge drawer.
- lovely relaxing bath as stressed about work tomorrow - opened new soap from stash.
- washing and drying.
- encouraged by MSE forums.
- tidied bedroom.
Watching Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners is a great motivation! (My house is nothing like the ones on the TV but I would like it to be cleaner and neater).0 -
Yoo hoo

So of course I had to come and check out your diary after your kind words on mine. I can't believe you think I'm well organised when you do all this sorting in your house. Mine always looks like a small nuclear device has gone off in it. I suppose I can't expect too much with dh, 2 kids and 6 cats living here with me - but I'd love to be decluttered...

It's easier with only 2 cats and a husband to organize! My house is small - that's my problem. The de-cluttering is so that we can decorate and move.
Thanks for popping by

Posted on DFBC: £4224/£4423 paid off this year.
Only £199 to go - 96% paid off! This total is only for 2015. The full amount was much larger. Itching to pay the rest off immediately but I should be sensible and do it next pay day as it's getting nearer to Christmas and I have a few extra expenses...
The end is in sight!
