No heat to any radiators but water is hot

Just moved house and there is no heat in any of the radiators (3bed semi), there's hot water from the taps, the boiler is on as is the 'water heater' switch in the airing cupboard. Its a Potterton Profile 60eL boiler, and has a Potterton EP2000 controller, which has an LCD display that is showing nothing.. Any help greatly appreciated as MrsBritishBoy is frozen!

Forgot to say its a system with a cylinder in airing cupboard, and 2 water tanks in the loft (previous house had combi boiler) so I know very little about how it works0

Find the heating pump and see if the pipes are hot on the inlet side and could on the output. The pump may have gone.0

Is the heating even switched on ? - if LCD is blank ?
Its the electric immersion keeping the water hot - so whilst its good to have the hot water, it doesn't help with the diagnosis that you have it0 -
Number things could be
Check the room thermostat and timer are on.?
Does sound like Potterton EP2000 If there’s nothing on the display could be loose connection or faulty programmer If you tap controller does the lcd display come up ?
motorised valve /pump problem. Assuming you have valves (1 for HW, 1 for CH), the CH valve could be faulty try Opening it manually does it energise the boiler/ pump
etc
If it does could indicate the electrical side is operating ok but maybe just the LED not working , or valves/pump is seized, faulty if systems not be used for a while moving valve turning pump by hand can move sludge along enouigh for it too start0 -
There is probably a three way valve to alternate between hot water, hot water and heating, and heating only. This valve will operate normally with a whirring sound for a second or so as you move between those different options.
If not, it may have seized which means only one of those three options above will work. I replaced mine last year for this reason.0 -

Room thermostat is wound up to 30 degC (just to see if it will kick start, but still nothing), and the LCD display is blank, I took the programmer off the back plate and the battery in it is heavily corroded. Tried tapping it but still nothing
There is a switch type box with a small arm/lever that points to wither 'auto' or 'man', it was on auto and a moved it to manual (thinking it would override it), it took an effort to move, and made a whirring noise (bit like one of them wind up toys you pull back and let go) but still nothing0 -
Does sound like programmer but if you have 3 Port Valves and Y Plan Heating System this may help it shows standard ish layout pump and threeport valve try changing the direction valve
Try these
At the start shows you sought of layout

Shows you how to manually move valve

shows tapping the pump with a hammer sometimes works lol

Have you cleaned up the programmer terminals and replaced the battery?? If the programmer is not working you're not going to get very far.0

I'm not having a go but I'm curious that you seem to have bought a house without first checking the condition of the c/heating system. Or maybe you did know but got the place for a good price because if it?0 -
First thing I'd check is the power turned on?! Fuse blown? The water heater switch could mean immersion0
