Moral dilemma: Snooping through Facebook
Comments
-
I have just reported it under the "This account is in a fake name" option. It does look very suspicious and is obviously nothing to do with her so I think that I've done the right thing.
I only looked at her account a couple of years ago after meeting a mutual friend whilst out shopping. Mutual friend loves a bit of gossip and told me that ex and wife were having a bit of trouble and said to "have a look at her FB page, she blabs all about what a git he is."
I did so and was amused at how she moaned about what a rubbish husband he was. It always surprises me at how much personal stuff people post on FB.
The account in her name is definitely suspicious. If nothing else, it's made me check that there are no other accounts in my name with my photos, that aren't anything to do with me. Not that I have any photos of me on my FB account anyway but even so..."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
If the Moral dilemma is snooping through facebook then it's a bit late to be asking.
As for the snooping on your ex's wife -have you considered getting some help for your obsession ? Your GP would be a good first stop.
Is there medication out there for snooping then? Lmao, I think there would be a lot of people needing it if there was, I don't know many people who don't enjoy a good facebook snoop every now and again, I know I'm guilty, and I don't feel the need for counselling!!0 -
I wouldn't say anything. It's not your account, not your concern.
I'm sure you're not the only person who goes noseying around on FaceBook, either. Sometimes I'm almost convinced its main purpose is for people to stalk their exes, lol.
I stalk friends - and my children - every now and then (no exes) and leave them with 30+ notifications
In my defence, I don't visit facebook every single day, I give my girls advance notice and warn friends I'm about to check what they're up to :A:rotfl::DThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -

I clicked on a couple of the "friends" profiles and there are lots of pictures of Syrian (I assume) guys in the desert, along with guns, pictures of armoured vehicles and so on. It all looks a bit suspicious and I'm fairly sure that they are nothing to do with this woman.
You've seen Pictures of guns and armoured vehicles yet you don't think you want to report it?
You need to report it here ASAP:
http://content.met.police.uk/Article/AntiTerrorist-Hotline/1400006265916/1400006265916
http://www.nactso.gov.uk/contact
Even the CT hotline tag line is 'it's probably nothing but...'
Report it - let them decide if it's useful.:hello:0 -
The guns and vehicles in themselves wouldn't arouse my suspicions as such, I've seen plenty of FB pics with soldiers, armed vehicles and the like, just because they have pictures of soldiers with guns on their feed, doesn't make them terrorists. I have a picture of a cake on my profile but it doesn't make me a baker!
What is suspicious is the fact that they have taken the profile of a white, british woman and used it to engage with others. There are a couple of women listed under "friends" and I suspect that accounts may have been hacked/copied too. Their profile pictures are typical photos that young women post, all hair and make-up in a "selfie" pose, you would expect them to have loads of FB "friends" and so on, not just 8 or so Syrians?
There's definitely something weird going on, I have also reported as suggested by Tiddlywinks. As they say, it's probably nothing but....."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Maybe put up a link on here - then we can report it
