Reasonable time for no heat no hot water?

Well wonder plumber has struck again - apparently fixed the boiler.
which either means he fixed it for a few hours from this afternoon to about 20 minutes ago - OR he didn't in fact fix it at all... He rebuilt it, as there is no longer a boiler case on the landing but still no hot water. Well I suppose I COULD have forgotten how to turn on a hot tap it's been a while...
Woo hoo.
It's the getting my hopes up that's getting me now. I just want to be warm.

We thought it would be fixed on Monday - then Tuesday ... (Also been at work therefore no chanec to get anywhere that sells them)...
I have started o view this as a diet I'll be skinny by Christmas...
I'm happy under blankets cuddling a hot water bottle... We'll have no use for them again - and i'm not forking out for noisy little things that will give me a headache and dry eyes (we have no heating at work due to gas pipe issues and the fan heaters have been driving me mad). My partner seems to really enjoy me putting my cold hands on his belly... hahahaha

I rent out three properties and the rent includes central heating breakdown cover (the same cover that I have in mine). I'd say to attend (not necessarily fix) a boiler breakdown the next working day is acceptable (and my tenants are happy with that)
I say attend and not fix as it does depend on the availability of parts.
If one of my tenants wanted a same day call out on a Sunday, I would say go for it, but you pay for the call out as they have a service arrangement (that they are happy with and that I pay for) in place already.
It would be the same for me. If I were to call out somebody on a Sunday other than my service provider I would expect to pay.
With regards to the boiler breaking down. They can be tricky. I had a relatively new boiler in my old place (10 -12 years old) that kept breaking down. It was only when the PCB blew and was replaced (after 3 days waiting for the part) that it worked properly.
Thems the breaks I'm afraid...0
