The Lenovo doesnt have a dedicated Graphics card which i would believe to be quite a downside for a gaming laptop. where as the acers card i would say is pretty respecable?
on top of that the acers double the ram.
On the processor Card side, i dont know which would be class as the "more powerful"0 -
I am also currently looking for a "budget gaming laptop" i know its abit of a reach for the prices, however that argos refurbed one looks very good for 315
AMD A8-5557M quad core processor 2.1GHz
with AMD Radeon HD8550G graphics card
Should run all the current games (not at the highest level but still run them fluidly and for a good price) im hopeing some people agree?
The Lenovo model is much the same....for slightly less. Though less RAM of course. Has the same graphics solution as the ACER.Processor AMD A8-5550M Quad Core (2.1GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, AMD Turbo Up To 3.1GHz)
Screen 15.6" (Lenovo Anti-Glare, 1366x768 HD Resolution, LED Backlit)
Operating System Windows 7 Professional Edition 64-bit (with Windows 8 Professional 64bit License & Restore Provided)
RAM 4GB (DDR3 1600MHZ)
Hard Drive 500GB
Optical Drive DVD Rewriter (Records DVDs 8x & CDs 24x & Dual Layer Super Multi)
Graphics Integrated (AMD Radeon HD 8550G)
You can buy the ACER machine new from Very at the same price if you are a new customer.0 -
but it has no CD/DVD drive unfortunately - damn thought I had cracked it then!0

sorry I was talking about the Acer. I read a few bad reviews about the Lenovo one but I'm obviously not inferring you would suggest one that was no good - it's just when you have no knowledge you are totally reliant on other people's views. I'm fully awake and alert now!0

these are the reviews I was looking at

To be fair, there isn't much that I would recommend. But you need something.
Personally, the minimum spec that I would go for if I wanted to play games would be this: http://www.save on laptops.co.uk/59416543-Lenovo-G500_1585691.html
There are certainly no bargains around.0 -
back again - sorry. What about this one?

But better processor? Perhaps the OP likes the colour;-) Seriously, won't the integrated Intel 4400 do for old(er) games?0
