o2 taking customers for a ride!!

Last January I was contacted at home by o2 offering a sim card only tariff inc. 500 text and 100 mins talk to any network/anytime for £19
With the added extra of upgrading my phone after 3 months.
I explained that as I didn't want to replace my phone at the moment then it was a deal I would be interested in. I also explained that when I did wish to upgrade the phone then I wouldn't want to be paying anything extra than the £20 and would like to keep the same number etc.
Of course this would be no problem and they would be looking forward to my call to upgrade the phone!!
SUPRISE SUPRISE when I ring up for the upgrade they refuse to let me upgrade without having a new monthly tariff of £25 and inc mins that has no use for me!
I would like to make people aware of their procedures and also to let people know the customer service is very poor with endless phone calls to 0870 numbers and then been cut dead.
The story finishes with me cancelling the whole thing and been extreamly p***ed off. The lack of customer service and misleading information in the business is amazing!
