And the OP does have a good reason , so whats your point ?

It wasn't a direct response to OP, more the assertion than you can open anything that comes from your letter box, even if you know it's not yours.

I always remember when I moved to a house when I was a child 20 years ago and the previous tenants did a runner after racking up as much debt as they could, even 4 years later we had debt collectors at the door or people be rude on phone claiming my parents were lying and pretending to be someone else.

I even remember baliffs at the door trying to barge past my dad saying they had a right to enter, or threatening to take my dads car, even threatening to smash door or window in to get entry as again they refused to believe we were not the people they were looking for.

I even remember one time my dad found a guy with a clipboard going round our property and writing notes then when my dad asked him what he was doing he said he had a right to go into our garden as it wasnt illegal then physically threatened my dad(not realising my dad is ex army) and tried pushing him out of the way so my dad grabbed his collar and just threw him into the garden and he called police on my dad saying my dad beat him up and he wanted my dad arrested, and even told the police my dad was faking his identity etc.
