first date in eleven years !

that sounds worse than it is, I was in a relationship for eleven years and it ended earlier this year

ive been grooming guys online and been chatting to one in particular whos taking me out for a meal and leisure activity (sport) afterwards, if he shows up lol

the things is, its a whole different ball game at my age, last time around it was fun and carefree, now all the single guys have children which I don't mind but you have to take things much more slowly for the sake of them

I much prefer the person I am now to the person I was back then too, I just hope I don't get too nervous and talk too much

wish me luck !

I think you need to be a bit more careful with your vocabulary otherwise the only guys you'll be meeting will be the boys in blue!

Dear me! Hasn't anybody got a sense of humour anymore?

Or a dictionary for that matter? http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/grooming

I'm sure the OP is not planning on dating children!!

Yep, grooming seems like a poor choice of expression. :D

Good luck with your dating though.

I am in my early 50s and have been with the same man for over 25 years. I couldn't imagine having to go through the dating game again. I would be so anxious about it, that I think I literally would not bother.

My neighbour who is 53, got divorced 2 years ago, after 25 years of marriage, and all her workmates do, day in, day out, is mither her to get a boyfriend, and she is as happy as a pig in mud on her own. Mortgage free in a 4 bed bungalow worth £400K, doesn't have to work full time, has 3 gorgeous kids and 3 lovely grandkids, and 3 fabulous moggies. If I were to be divorced or widowed; I think I would be the same; I would want to be alone for a few years, and the last thing I would do is look for a new man! But then I guess you can't say until it happens to you.

Why does everyone think that everyone has to BE with someone? Some people are OK on their own. That said, if it's what you want OP, then good luck to you. :)
Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!

I am in my early 50s and have been single for a very long time and have remained so for a few reasons, some you mention: I am terrified of dating again, can't be bothered to do it, am quite happy on my own but also you get to my age and there isn't very much choice, really, especially as I'm not that bothered and am fussy about who I would have a relationship with.

I don't feel any pressure to date but I do get sick of married friends who tell me how lucky I am! Yes, I am happy but there is nobody to support me, give me a hug at the end of the day if I need it and going to social engagements always on your own can be quite tough at times.

If people want to date, or not, that fine. For me, as I'm happy I've got a lot to lose: what if I got it wrong as I've done in the past? A bad relationship could do a lot of damage.

Not the topic of this thread though. Sorry OP and good luck on your dating adventures!

Grooming ? Is that what you've been doing to me all these weeks. All the messages i sent, i was begining to think you liked me, and all the time i was being groomed.
