BT Card, Letter Asking for Info

Options
Evening!

So I applied for a balance transfer card last week, requesting initially to transfer £2,000 from my current card (Tesco) to a new card with Lloyds. I just filled in the online application form thingy.

The current balance on the card is closer to £3,000, but I'm planning to have it reduced to below £2k before the 0% ends on the card in March next year.

I've today received a letter from Lloyds asking me to call them to "talk through some details".

Now, I have social anxiety, which can sometimes make talking on the phone quite difficult, so I'm wondering if anyone might be able to give me an idea of what kind of information they'll be asking about? I don't like going into these things blind.

I'm full-time employed, home owner (mortgaged). The credit limit on my current card is £3,800.

They won't be trying to sell me anything, will they?

Sorry if these are silly questions, I've just never done this before, want it to go nice and smooth!

  • It may be that your new limit is too small for the amount you want to transfer.

Pick up the phone and go for it. I doubt it's a sales spiel (they don't offer PPI these days).

But if they do offer something, keep your response simple. The word "no" works wonders.

    Good luck.

Was literally just a security question call, as it was an online application they wanted to confirm the details.

There was one address I couldn't confirm (I've lived in my current house for 8 years, but I had a joint account with my former partner, and when he moved out 2 years ago, I think the address of the joint account updated to his new address, which is now showing as a former address on my credit report, and I don't have the actual address) - I didn't realise it was on my history until the caller asked about it, I recognised the area by the first part of the postcode he gave - that won't affect the application, will it?

Well, just have to wait for the outcome now.

Thanks for the push, PeacefulWaters :)
