Free laptop deal with Orange/Currys/PC world/BT

Hi everyone,
bit new at this forum malarky so please bear with me! I want to buy a laptop in order to be able to use the internet from home, and also watch dvds, cds and do the odd essay on MS word. I have seen recently that i can get a free laptop if i take out my internet connection with Orange meaning i will pay them 14.99 a month (which to me seems reasonable). Am i missing a catch here? .... I know the contract with orange is for 24 months but at 14.99 a month that works out to £359.76 prob how much i would get a cheap laptop for today if i bought one straight out and then i would still have to get the connection.
Has anyone any opinions of whether this is a good deal or whether they know of any extra charges they impose in the small print (ie maybe connection is 14.99 a month but then the line is another £15 a month etc .... i don't really understand all the tech stuff sorry)
Would really appreciate some help....I also hear BT have a similar offer though can't find anything on it.
Thanks everyone x
