I got a lightening deal on Thursday, which arrived today (free super saver delivery) - they had tried yesterday (Sunday!) but I was out.

But, I'm finding more and more their is no delivery note in the package, and delivery is quite late (was about 8pm tonight).

Definitely not what it used to be.

Another one here. Been paying for Prime for years but the earliest delivery date for anything this afternoon was Thursday.

That is not what we pay for.

I spent a LOT of money (for me, anyway) on a couple of the lightning deals on Wednesday, selected free super saver delivery and was pleased to see it was out for delivery on Saturday. However, it all went down hill from that point.. after waiting in all weekend, they arrived today in one package with the box SO badly and loosely packaged with minimal tape holding it together, no fragile or handle with care stickers and had clearly been thrown about A LOT, dropped from height as one corner was totally smooshed-up and a huge area was torn open on both sides of the box (we're talking big enough to reach in and take stuff). Fortunately everything inside was in tact apart from my invoice but the product boxes showed damage from the drop and since they were electrical items I didn't want to risk finding out they're fluffed up internally.

Amazon were great when I contacted them (via live chat) and processed a replacement for me right away but I'm not holding my breath on it arriving as quickly as before. I've had to beg the guy to leave a note with my order to please PLEASE package it with more care so the goodies don't get ruined but I have no idea if they have ways to get these messages to the pickers/packers.

I think they have been far too overwhelmed with orders last week/this weekend - I'm sure I remember watching a documentary where the staff were working on an (unrealistic) target basis. Too many orders, not enough staff or time.

They were on the news earlier as the number of orders far exceeded what they'd anticipated.
They even said you could order up to lunch time Christmas Eve for Christmas delivery.
I wouldn't dream of doing this as unlikely to get it and what about the poor staff and drivers who must want to get away home. Talk about trying to make every last penny.

I think they are doing away with delivery notes, I haven't had one for a couple of months. They were a waste of paper anyway, you don't need one for a return, everything you need is in your account.

I paid for Prime and an item I ordered at 8am today says delivery on Thursday!
So no, we are NOT getting priority.

I was meaning on last week's stuff where they were still claiming one day delivery.

I haven't had a delivery note for months either, so like you, I assumed they had stopped using them. Recently though I needed a proper printed proof of purchase (not just email) in order to claim cashback from Sony, so I spoke to Amazon on live chat and they have sent me one separately by post. I said I hadn't received them for several orders over the last few months and if that was intentional, but they said no I should be getting them and that they would look into to it.
  • I always use the free super saver delivery and haven't had to wait long for my Black Friday purchases.

One order Monday was dispatched within 4 hours of ordering via Royal Mail 48 hour tracked delivery and arrived Wednesday, the other ordered Friday was dispatched yesterday, again via Royal Mail 48 hour tracked delivery and so it is due tomorrow.
