I've never bought a Black Friday deal, as most of my Christmas shopping is done before then. I always have a browse though, but haven't been tempted.


This morning, I noticed that the security light that I had been looking at over the weekend was on the first page for items starting at 8am. I particularly wanted something that didn't require an electrician, and this light has decent reviews. Instead of being £21.65 (and £24.50 on the manufacturer's website), it was £13.99. So yes, I bought it!


I've not been tempted by anything else though.

Amazons express delivery is less 'express' and more pigeon judging by the fact they are now saying express delivery will take 3 days rather than next day :eek:

Clearly they had far more orders on Black Friday week than they could cope with.

I wonder if this year will be another of those "will it or won't it arrive by christmas" as the delivery companies can't cope. :rotfl:

i was really hoping they would have the Mr beams indoor lights back on as i missed them last week and they never repeated them, typical that they repeat the outdoor ones but not indoor :mad:

first of my orders just arrived by UPS. They may be waiting to despatch most items together as I had five items in one box bought over various days last week

They definitely seem to be struggling. I have Prime so usually get most things the next day. I ordered something on Saturday - it was before 9am, as from 9am I was on the train down to Birmingham and then out all day. It is still showing as "preparing to dispatch" at the moment.
I've noticed a few things are already saying delivery by Wed or Thursday, rather than tomorrow, despite it being early in the day. They must be rushed off their feet.

have now spoken to customer services. items I ordered Monday will be dispatched within the next 24 hours, they don't know whether this will be via Royal Mail or courier.

They can't say if they will meet the "estimated delivery time" shown on my order page. Seems a big balls up!
