probably is true, I wonder why i work sometimes0

If it is true then it'd be novel for the Sun. I find it amusing how they include not requiring he pay council tax as a benefit in the UK. If he worked in Romania he'd be paying thousands less in tax, but somehow that didn't make it into their headlinesHaving a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. over £20k in "tax credits and other benefits"?
i'd say it's quite likely misleading in some way, tho i'm far from an expert on such matters.
might it even, i know this sounds ridiculous, might it even include his per capita share of all spending, including defence & so on?
cheers.FACT.0 -
using the www.entitledto.co.uk
and saying I earned 25,000
a non working partner
5 children under 10
private tenancy
then the benefits come out at 24,108
which are made up of
-12,042 wtc
-8,180 HB
-3,884 child benefits
it also tells me that under universal credit system I would get 1,144 MORE
I may well have used it incorrectly but maybe some-one else will try it out.0 -
Yes, the lower paid get WTCs (working tax credits) and all of the other benefits. Child benefit for instance is virtually nil in Eastern Europe/Romania but in the UK it will be around 400 quid a month for 5 children. That is why they are attracted here and why I'm voting UK to stop this exploitation of our welfare system !!!!
These people add to the annual deficit as they are a NET DRAIN on the resources and tax system. It has been going on for years especially since 2000 when Brown brought in the WTC system. We even send child benefit abroad when the kids are not even here !!!!!
Vote UKIP !! :T0 -

That is not misleading at all !! 5 kids = about 5K a year child benefit, council tax 2K, housing benefit 6K + WTCs etc. :mad:0 -

well, hang on.
they've itemised the £4k child benefit and also [dubiously] the council tax.
my question was - how likely is it that, "housing benefit 6K + WTCs etc." adds up to over £20k?FACT.0 -

If it is the case, can anyone explain or defend it?
