Contract Dispute With Vodafone - Desperate For Help

Options
Hi all,

I'm having real big problems with Vodafone at the moment. I have contacted them on several occasions via. Phone & Live chat and got absolutely nowhere.

I took a contract out via Phones4u before they shut down, however I had no network coverage so was within my rights to cancel within 14 days, things took a bit longer than expected due to the administration process, however we finally got there, I returned the phone to Phones4u and received confirmation from them that the contract was now termimated (via email)...

However when I contacted Vodafone, they have said my account is still live and the contract is still in effect, they said they have heard nothing from Phones4u regarding the termination & that Phones4u have access to be able to put notes on Vodafone customers accounts (Phones4u outright deny that this is the case) and that they have confirmation from Vodafone's account manager that the contract is terminated.

They have given me a reference number and asked me to get Vodafone to contact them directly and they will let them know thr situation, however Vodafone customer services are refusing to do this.

Vodafone have already charged me for 2 months worth of my contract however I only used the phone for the initial 2 weeks. I have a feeling I'm going to be charged another months worth in the next couple of days.

Am I able to cancel the direct debit before this happens or will I receive a default on my account for this?

I really don't want to be paying for something that should have been sorted out a long time ago (and can't afford to).

Is there any way of me getting this sorted as Phones4u have been reasonably helpful & co-operative with everything however Vodafone keep fobbing me off hanging up on me, passing me from pillar to post etc.

I have emails from Phones4u confirming the contract has been cancelled and copies of the conversations from Vodafone live chat saying my account is still active.

I'm desperate :(

The quickest way to sort it is to contact the rep on here as per shown in his many posts on here such as this one http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=66966576&postcount=7
When you have the automated reply post the ref. number on this thread to enable the rep to trace it.

The longer way is to print off the copies of your paperwork including the confirmation it was returned cancelled, post them recorded along with a covering letter explaining you want it cancelled and monies taken refunded.
I realise it goes against the grain but at this stage don't cancel the DD as this would start an automated recovery process that would cloud the issue.
It's not just about the money

I'd be very surprised if this really was the case.

I am inclined to believe P4U.

Even if you ever move to a place where Vodafone signal is the best, avoid them like the plague.

difficult, as its not vodafones fault
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
