hello
i have had very poor service from the school uniform provider. they are a small family run business. i have spoken to the school who say the matter is between me and the supplier.
last year - i borught a school cardi from the provider, the buttoms fall off on the frist day. the supplier said i could pick up spare the buttems from them. they also said many parents have complained about this. it is not convenient for me to go to the supplier.
this school year - the buttoms fall off in the frist week. (the supplier was rude asking why only my daughter buttons keep falling off) she said she would drop off spare buttons to my house but didnt. 1st she claimed she lost the address, then she could not find the buttons etc.. over the half term hoildays i went to the shop and was told she was on holiday!
what can i do and can i get additional compensation if the distress and inconvenience?

1) Cut the buttons off last year's cardigan and sew them on.
2) Are you serious? Distress because a button has fallen off? What is your reaction to a genuine problem if this is how you react to a minor irritation?0 -
If the school gets lots of complaints, they will eventually change supplier.
Not a lot you can really do other than logging your complaint to both parties.
Just sew the buttons on tightly and don't get stressed about it.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
What you do need to do is feedback to the school that the quality has been somewhat lacking. This is a cushy contract and therefore you would expect the school to pick a supplier which has the quality as well as the price of garments in mind. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0

Compensation for distress for buttons coming off a cardigan....really? Do you have or can you get a hold of a needle and thread?0

the buttons on the cardi are very large, green and light weight. i did look as the craft show for them but didnt find anything suitable. i believe the cardi's were faulty items0

by distress/inconvenience i mean i have to call the lady in charge 5 times this school year so far and she can be rude.
the buttons on the cardi from last year also fell off.0 -
You are aware of the problem....
Put a few extra stitches into each button as soon as you buy the cardies.
I wonder if your child is fiddling with the buttons.......make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Inconvenienced by having to make 5 phone calls? Put a complaint into writing and send 2 copies, both recorded. One to the school, the other to the supplier. Then sew the buttons on yourself and get a grip.
God help you should you actually ever have to deal with a serious problem.0 -
