Bellway - DONT BUY FROM THEM

New home buyers stay clear and don’t buy from Bellway, their reviews are shocking at the review center, consumers need to be made aware.
You’re better off buying from Berkeley homes, my friend bought from them at the same time as me with no issues. She even says Berkeley rock, I say Bellway suck.
Bellway homes cut corners by £1m in this development , over the past year they have caused me so much stress that I would not want anyone to go through it, I am in process of requesting compensation for all the stress they have caused.

Apart from having a heavy door are there any specific issue you want to warn people of?0
-
Your main complaint is that the door is heavier??
If you manage to stretch that out to a series of articles, I'll be impressed!0 -
I bought a flat from Bellway last year, it was the biggest mistake I have ever made.
Oh no! :eek:the door that had been given to me had scratches so they changed it.
The b@5+a*d5!
now this door is a different colour and weighs more.
The horror!
What a perfect life you must have lead so far. I probably make 3 bigger mistakes than that every day before breakfast.
their MD Stuart Wallace ...refuses to talk to me and put the phone down on me.
And yet this surprises you...

I think people are taking the mickey somewhat as what you have specified as a complaint isn't actually that big a deal compared to what a lot of people are having to deal with.
Of course, if that is just the latest in a long line of problems, I can understand your frustration.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Personally when you buy a new house you expect it to be a certain standard, after all everything is new and you are paying a premium for it.
I had in the region of 15-20 snagging items, damage to the front porch on sign off, screws sticking out of pvc doors, gate latches fitted incorrectly etc.
I think your item, while annoying perhaps is not the worst thing in the world, perhaps with some persistence and kind words some sort of financial gesture could be obtained?0 -
What a typical response - you don't agree with me, therefore you must work for them.
Give it a break OP, if the most serious issue you had in buying a new home is that one door is heavier then you've got away lightly!
We had a snagging list about 30 items long, none of them as trivial as yours but expected this as did the developer and they were quickly and efficiently resolved.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
How does one tell the weight of a door without removing and weighing it?0
-
NoI have had so many issues, security, over 100 snags that have caused me so much stress.. These guys lie daily and don't provide good customer service skills. I would really like to hear from consumers that have experiences with Bellway. The door was just the icing on the cake that came with more lies and excuses.0
-
...their MD Stuart Wallace contradicts what I was told, stating that it’s from the same manufacturer, however, he cannot provide me with an answer when I ask why the door is heavier, so even more lies.
For the record, another Bellway non-employee here.
Door manufacturers generally produce a range of products. Fire doors, glass doors, panelled doors, steel doors, etc. The fact that your new door is heavier may be an indication of more robust construction. Be happy!
If you don't like the weight, put a cat flap in it. If you don't have a cat, get one. It will help you put things in perspective.
P.S. This is my "Be nice to Newbies" mode. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

NoI have had to fight these guys for over a year, they are not an easy company to work with. Don’t buy form them!!! They will cause you stress.0
