I'm sure plenty of buyers of new homes have problems with lots of different builders. They are the ones who will be most motivated to hit the net. The happy folks are less likely to voice their satisfaction as they are busy getting on with their lives.

    Here is the complaint mechanism;-

If you spend enough time on here OP, you'll have plenty of chances to hear about buyers of second hand property who have no hope of anyone putting anything right, after the event.

Home buyers pay a lot of money for a new property, they should not have to stress and fight to get what they paid for. Consumers that have no fight in them and or not aware of their rights, will totally get lied too and no actions will be taken to fix there snags.
I am going to open this poll to all residence in my development, it would be good to get these views.

There have been major security issues such as the door that leads to the main road, does not lock and anyone could work in, which they have done , they come in a drink and smoke weed, which is really bad as other residence have small children.
Its not easy to get these guys to act, I had an extern al contractor tell me that they were told by Bellway, that the reason there are so many issues is because Bellway act cost by £1m, so they could make more money.

I was going to suggest communicating by letter might improve the chances of getting things done.

Then I read the postings by the OP, and I wasn't so sure that'd work.

Use the complaints procedure set out in the Consumer Code. Any builder which is NHBC registered has to be a member.

To summarise the originak OP, he is really mad because the managing director of Bellway homes put the phone down on him and now won't reply to his emails. It doesnt make any sense because he is sending 3 an hour and writing a blog, a tv adaptation and has pitched for a TV movie starring Matt Damon.

To further add insult to injury he complained about his front door to Bellway Homes and they replaced it for him. But the new one is a slightly different colour.

As if this weren't bad enough the door is also heavier and Bellway have compounded this tissue of subterranean subterfuge by refusing to tell him why.

I don't know how he can go on to be honest. A lesser man would have crumbled already under this horrific treatment.

So what are the issues apart from a heavier door and slightly different colour, both of which aren't actually problems ?

The heavier door as has already been suggested means it is a sturdier door, a good thing. As for the colour you get different colours from the same paint if you buy from different batches, same with tiles. It may not be something they can control or do anything about.

If it isn't a PVC door then paint it yourself if not happy.
