I normally take my daughter to a Saturday kids club, and you can get a kids snack deal for around £3 so would buy that. But if we ever go to a normal viewing or I go with my partner then I would usually take a drink and maybe some chocolate.Lea0

I go to the early performances where there are usually only one or two other people, so I don't disturb anyone by eating. I heard that some cinemas are banning the bringing in of food from outside, in which case I won't go. I refuse to buy over priced rubbish.
It has been policy of many cinemas for years to not allow customers to take their own food and drink.
Like others I manage to be able to watch a film without the need for anything to eat or drink.0 -
Always have a bag with a drink and sweets for my children in it. Never been stopped.Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
I always take a bottle of water and maybe a few sweets or popcorn I never buy anything apart from my ticket from the cinema.,#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I'm by no means 'tight', but even I draw the line at paying £3.50 for a SMALL cup of juice and £4-£5 for a bucket of popcorn!!
I buy the 80p bag of Asda popcorn and a can of juice. Fits in a handbag, job done!
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
I take a bottle of water and my choccies. Our cinema used to try to stop you but if you weren't obvious about it, it was easy enough to get things through. If they didn't charge such silly money I'd buy drinks etc there, but I can't afford to. The ticket price is bad enough without all the extras.
I have seen people taking out the sandwiches and the packed lunch, which I do think is a bit OTT.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
normally take a can of coke but never take food0

Always,we go to Odeon kids Cinema regularly and they like to go into the shop beforehand to choose sweets and drink.
We used to buy the kids snack deal but they got bored with the same thing every week.0 -
I've yet to see any signs banning food and drink not purchased at the cinema. Usually take a bottle of water but that goes everywhere with me anyway.0

I always used to "smuggle" my drink and very occasionally food into the cinema but then in the late 90s/ early 00s a friend was a deputy manager of the local cinema and pointed out that actually it was company policy to allow people to bring in their own food/ drink (within reason I imagine, doubt they wanted you setting up a full picnic table).
Since then have been more brazen with carrying a bottle of coke or water etc in and never had any issues0
