    Morning all,

Welcome to the new posters, this is a great place.

Lyn, thinking of you all, and Docky.

What a wet morning, poor hubby has been working outside since 7am today, so he will be rather wet by the time of his indoor meeting starts. He has been working long hours lately so I have been trying to persuade him to take a day's leave so he can rest.

I need to pop around to the chemist as very low on one of my tablets, got a prepayment certificate so no money needs to be spent today.

I have managed to buy all hubby's and my mum's christmas presents by online shopping, not sure what to get dad. Usually buy him a boxed dvd set and make him a movie box with his favourite snack foods and coca cola.

Will ring mum up later on, she seemed very tired on Monday.

    Take care all.

    Morning all,

a big welcome to our newbies to the thread. Glad to have you on board.

I'm so tired this morning. I slept pretty well and had to force myself out of bed this morning... If it wasn't for the 'Girls' and their bladders I think I'd still be there now.

After saying all is well with my eldest son yesterday, his girlfriends Facebook says otherwise. If ever there was a status aimed for me to read then last nights was it. Its evident she is going through my sons phone and a comment he made to me on Saturday, a pretty innocent one has been blown up out of all proportion. That's it, I'm done with trying to mediate between them, I'm done with accepting my sons girlfriends on my friends list. Ive still got his ex on my friends list and although she just accepts that what they have will never be its been pretty hairy at times (Jeremy Kyle Style via Facebook if you know what I mean). Then theres the other ex who isn't on my Facebook who is quick to slag him off for not being on call to babysit when she wants. I'm getting a bit sick of family on Facebook at the moment. I put my neice on my restricted list yesterday. I'm sure she only added me to filter information to my brother. Oh well.

Not much to do today, weather still dire so I wont be going out. I might clean my kitchen cupboards out today. My cleaning cupboard I cant get into theres so much stuff crammed in there.

Decision day. I told my friend I'd let her know if I was going to the reunion on Saturday. Hubby would rather I didn't (he'll be staying at home watching Discovery Turbo).

I cant think of a good enough reason to say I wont be going though and I'm not really used to social gatherings. I'm far quieter in real life.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

Hi everyone! Hope the conversation with the vet isn't too harrowing, Lyn and that you find the strength to make the best decision.

Treated myself to hair cut and colour this morning, in dire need as hadn't had it done since June. Have had an invite to join Shop and Scan receipts, you scan your till receipts on your phone and send them in, seems straight forward enough.

Right, need to get more washing in, one load of bedding done. Also need to defrost mince to make bolognese for tomorrow evening's dinner, as I shall be at work tomorrow. Heavy showers, windy and sunny spells here, but overall still quite mild.

Last night's choir rehearsal went quite well.

It's looking like it will be quite a nice day here today. I'm at home all day today because I have two friends visiting for a coffee and catch up, one this morning and one this afternoon. I shall have to shift my backside and do a quick tidy round.
Dumpling, how do you cope with having visitors? I hope you don't mind me asking; I know you have issues with going out, as I do, but I also can't cope with people coming to see me. Mr LW went to the local CAMRA beer festival a couple of weeks back, and said he'd been talking to the Pubs Officer (a woman) who had been saying something about coming to visit me, and I immediately went into a total panic, and begged him to find a way to dissuade her if it was mentioned again. I do have some fairly old research I started on disabled access to local pubs, which she may find useful in compiling info for the CAMRA website, but if she wants that, she could email me and ask for it, there's no need for her to visit. When I saw your post about having friends over, I just wondered if you have any tips on having visitors and not panicking.:o

Just tell her you don't really feel like going, so won't go. You don't owe her a detailed explanation.

  • Welcome toSlowdown, animated-smileys-waving-007.gifMadelinesMum animated-smileys-waving-007.gif and amandaatnumber7,animated-smileys-waving-005.gif it is always lovely to meet new like minded friends.

It rained earlier but the sun is out now so yes there is washing on the line.

DH had to go and have the root taken out from where he lost the crown at 10am this morning, it took nearly an hour and he said she had to stop to take a rest a couple of times  So he was packed off to bed when we got back with some co-codamol.

I whizzed down to the market to get some potatoes and brussels and then I made a couple of loaves of bread which I must check in a minute.

He has to go back to work at 3.30pm for his second shift, but I think that he will just do the bare bones and come home early.

He wants me to make him a nice soup for his dinner, so I will probably just make it a soup and pudding night and I will make him a creme caramel for dessert. I won't eat it because it is not good for diabetics :(, but DH, DS and DD love it, so I will probably just have an apple.

I hear him stirring so I will go and make him a cuppa.

    BFN x

Hi Lamewolf, I know what you mean about having visitors over as I asked my husband to have a whole day off work yesterday just because we had someone coming round to survey our attic as we are going to be having a new roof done soon. I'm afraid I don't really have any tips for you as I turn into a nervous wreck, it's just that the friends I had over today I have known both of them for years and years and I know they would never judge me. I wish I had an answer for the both of us.

It doesn't help that at the moment my house is quite chaotic as I have started my Christmas wrapping and so there are bags and boxes all over the place - I think a lot of my anxieties are from when I was very unwell and not coping and I lost my eldest daughter into care for a while. I am deathly afraid of it happening again even though my home situation is a million times better now. Phew, sorry that was very long-winded :o.

Just feel a bit mean that's all. Plus the fact the last time I saw her was 12 months ago. No doubt she will be ok on her own but last year she stuck to me like glue. "Will you come to the toilet with me?" "Will you come with me to talk to so and so?"

Think i'll go but not as early as I did last year. I'll find a quiet corner to sit in. Incidentally the venue is the place we held our wedding reception in. It will be interesting to see if its changed in almost 30 years.

I dunno why I am fretting about it really.:o

  • Afternoon and a big hello and welcome to the new people :)

Just taken some apple pies out of the oven. That will do DH and DS2 for pudding tonight and packed lunch pud tomorrow.

Popped to see my dad this morning. Bless him, he has quite an active social life but it is starting to show that he lives alone. I don't want to offend anyone on here but in my experience people who live alone, when they meet someone they seem to have to make up for not chatting to anyone at home and rattle on about anything just for the sake of talking!

    Fishcakes for tea tonight.

Dumpling (((HUGS))) for what you've been through in life; I'm just glad your situation is better than in the past.

I'm stressing because Mr LW's pal is coming over tomorrow night; I've managed to work it that he's coming when we have a dog staying (Jessie's arriving tomorrow) - he loves dogs, so if the conversation flags, Jessie will be a good distraction. Don't get me wrong, he's a really nice chap; I just feel that I can't possibly have anything to say that he'd be interested in, and even though he'd never dream of saying it, he must think I'm a big waste of space!:( Lol - I think I'm a waste of space, so I can't concieve of anyone else not thinking I am.

I don't have any RL friends of my own, so all visitors are a big, big source of stress to me.
