    I don't agree that they should put the words "online" and "offline" on the cards. They'd end up with hundreds of calls from customers (just as we'd be answering similar threads here) who assume it's something to do with whether they can use their card for internet shopping.

    The majority of card holders won't care about online and offline cards anyway; and probably don't notice the minutia of available vs actual balance changes. Yes, folk round these parts do but this forum explains it so the banks don't need to confuse the 90% to appease the likes of us!
