help! Hudl2 flat, won't recharge and no reset button

My Hudl 2 bought last month is currently flat and will not recharge.
It is hardly old enough to be worn out and it has not been anywhere
to get damaged as it has been on my bedside table all day. I thought it had just gone flat and would recharge once I plugged in the charger but that was earlier this evening and it is still as dead as a dodo.
On Tesco tech support for the original Hudl it says it can be reset it using the reset "hole" on the reverse when this happens, using a paperclip or similar. There is no reset hole on the Hudl2 but I have found what appears to be a reset hole on the left hand edge at the front. Pressing and holding this for 15 seconds as suggested, has no effect. Any suggestions?

The small hole at the front might be the microphone.0

The Tesco instructions are for the Hudl 1 and so indicate you should use the reset button once you have left it to charge for a while. The Hudl 2 has a different layout, not the one shown.
In fact mine is now fine. I left it charging for an hour (as advised) but with no red light showing and it did not work when I then tried to reset it. I tried pressing both on and sound buttons together and holding down on button on its own but no joy. Eventually when I had given up, and decided it would have to go back to Tesco, I pressed the on button one last time and it sprang into life saying it was 74% charged.
I suspect that, like my Kindle, if it powers right down, then you have to leave it recharging for an extended period (with no visible sign that it is doing so) until it gets enough power to communicate with you again. Moral is to power it off, not leave if to close screen as it stays on and discharges the battery life which is only about 5 hours.
Where is the reset button on the Hudl 2 as it is not in the same place as on the Hudl 1.?0 -
Yes recommend is don't go below 5% .0

So the hit heading/link Performing a Hardware factory restore on your Hudl2 was a load of rubbish, then?0 -
well the headline did indeed say hudl 2 but the diagram showed a hudl 1 which has a different layout of the control "buttons" . The link info said to reset it if recharging did not work and showed reset button on back. It is not there on the hudl2. I thought i found it on the front but someone here said that might be the mike .
do you have a hudl 2.? do you know where the reset button is ? otherwise there is no need to be sarcastic 0 -

It is almost impossible to be sarcastic to a stupid person, as they simply lack the intelligence to understand. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
