I don't know why you are being so unpleasant. the factory reset link was no use because it assumed that by pressing sound and on buttons together , you could access the powered by android source. this did not work because the battery was not supplying any charge at all. pressing sound and on buttons together hsd no effect.

there were related links supplied which included how to reset it http://ttselectrical.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3567/related/1/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xNDE1OTkwMDg3L3NpZC9PVk5pY3E3bQ%3D%3Dt

but this turned out to refer to the hudl 1 and did indeed refer to a reset hole on the back not present on the Hudl2.

anyway you need not bother replying as I will find another forum where the users do not get some sort of weird thrill by being unpleasant and leave you to find someone else to be nasty to .
  • Rise above it littlerock , you will still find plenty of good -uns on here willing to help folk out without patronising them ,one bad apple and all of that .
  • Did you manage to solve the problem? I am now having the same issue since leaving my hudl 2 at home for a week. Any advice would be appreciated. x

I left it on charging for the evening without any apparent impact but then I pressed the on button hard a couple of times and it fired up. Sometimes they get so flat it takes a while for them to get enough charge to show they are even charging. My Kindle is the same. I believe Blackberrys are too.

do you have a hudl 2.? do you know where the reset button is ?

The Hudl2 doesn't have a separate reset button (or hole) AT ALL. The hole to the left of the screen IS DEFINITELY the microphone.

Mine locked up late last night while watching the iPlayer. This was the first time it had ever done this, but it was too late to do anything about it there and then. However, I wanted to power it off in case the battery flattened overnight (the screen was definitely on but black - it was still visible in a darkened room). So in desparation I held down all 3 buttons on the top left (power, volume+ and volume-) for a good 10 seconds - and finally the screen went blank....

I plugged in the charger this morning and the charging icon came on - good - so there was still life on Mars.. So I then tried switching it on. It appeared to come up normally (finishing with the blinking star to the right of the word 'Hudl' that stays for about 30 seconds), but Android 5.1 reboots again from scratch after you've entered your PIN. This time, the star kept on blinking, seemingly for ever. Slightly concerned it really had broken, I had breakfast and I found it had switched itself off when I came back. This time it switched on quickly (normal warm start) and I got the desktop immediately after entering my PIN.

ISTR Android 5.1 took ages to boot up from cold when I installed it. Bear this in mind, but that's another issue....

BTW - This Money Saving Expert site doesn't work properly with Android Firefox, but it's fine with Chrome. Why????
