your sister should talk it over with her daughter, and ask what her daughter would like to do about it - would the child want to tell the head, with her mum present, what has happened?

    How old is your niece?

Do you think the extra help would actually be an advantage? I'd have thought people might vote against them because of it.

Sorry I forgot to add my niece is 15, she would never usually get upset about things like this, but the whole thing has been so stressful it's started to get to her.
Yes I think she would probably speak to the head about it.
She genuinely was excited about it before it all started and quickly turned into a nasty popularity contest.

theres your answer then, your sister makes an appointment to see the head, and she and your niece go to the meeting.

While a form tutor is likely to help a member of his group, it's surprising that he's given money.

It's a hard lesson for your niece, but she's best out of it.

No one really knows, my niece only knows because the other candidate told her herself.

Surely that favouritism must be a disadvantage to the others that are in the running? The head should be aware of it at the least and what happened to your niece also, hardly fair is it?

  • Thank you, I agree, it's unfair to all candidates in my eyes also. My sister has emailed the headteacher to arrange an appointment to speak about it.
