  • Hi MrCF and savings people :)

Sorry I've not been online. I am unable to get onto the spreadsheet, even though you have tried to help, I think its a problem as I have a couple of email addresses and they conflict with permissions...

My total to date is £50 if you could update where needed please MrCF.

Many thanks and keep up the great savings everyone :)

Hello, I've put you down for £31 in December and £19 in January so far then. Just to make things easier. Let me know what you finish up on at the end of January.

Thanks for the PM, reminding me to update! I have been adding to my Christmas pot but forgot to update the thread.

I have £50 in the pot atm :)

Hello, fantastic! I've added £31 to your December total and £19 to your January total. If you want this changed just let me know ;)
I've just updated mine for January - I've opened up an esaver just for Christmas and deposited in £77.50 into it.

Thank you for the chasing up Mr Crime Fiction and for keeping us on track.

    :)
Wow what a great amount. Well done you! Ive split it in half and added £38.75 into each month. Just use the update sheet for your end of January total :D
No just remove me from the challenge, as I don't want to be told or feel pressured into doing something I don't want to do. Told how easy something is when I know what works for me. Not that I will be pressured into it.

I have said a few times I don't want to use the spreadsheet, I want to do this challenge as I have last year.
Sorry guys. This challenge really helped me last year, and I wish you all the best in your quest. It'll be amazing for you all to see how easy it is to save and how quick the amount tots up.
I wish you all a Happy and Healthy 2015 and all the luck in the world for your saving challenges:)

I've removed you from the list. You probably could have done all 12 months updates by the time you wrote out that post but
I am struggling to keep track of what I am adding as I have not been able to do it every day; just as and when I have the change. opss!

    I **think** I am on £11 / £31 so a little behind for Jan !!

I think your on £45 according to the spreadsheet. Might be correct I have no idea :rotfl:

Good luck to you too, but have to say I think you have misunderstood, you are not being told what to do or pressured in anyway, Mr Crime Fiction has kindly offered to check your posts and update for you. Why not just carry on as you did last year and accept his generous offer.

  • I got a PM saying I hadn't been on recently yet I was on and updated my total on the thread 2 days ago.

I'm not using the spreadsheet as I don't want to, and said that on here. I done this challenge last year and we just updated on the thread. No offence to you OP but I just don't have time to update spreadsheets and figure out how to use them.

I - along with someone else on here - said we would just be doing the same as last year and updating on the thread and in our signatures.

If this is a problem please do let me know and I'l leave this challenge and just continue to carry it on myself.

As of today I'm up to £12 in each pot :T

I think I'm the other person to whom you refer. I totally get where you are coming from. I took the challenge at face value. 'Challenge = put a quid in a pot each day and when you can, update in this thread and maybe even in your signature, how you are getting on'.

Spreadsheets are great for those who enjoy them, that isn't what I want to participate in. So I am not. Mr CF has instead requested a pm once a month to advise him of how much has been added to the pot, so I will do that instead. It isn't about whether spreadsheets are hard, or submitting info on a form is particularly taxing, it's just an unnecessary complication of a basically 'simple' challenge. And it's a challenge which many of us have done before, successfully, without any problems.
