I am a bit muddled at this time of year as my pensions are paid early, i.e. today. I have saved £40 in coins so far this month (December). I am topping that up to £60 for the month. Now, here's the muddled bit: I intend to try for £60 in January so I am putting that aside (£120 total) and will, as soon as possible, pay that into the Credit Union. During January I will send off a direct debit form (£60pm) to be effective from the end of January (next pension day). Maybe I am being over ambitious but I should be ok with that if I stop wasting money as I have done this year. With the CU, you can't withdraw money that easily (I think you have to apply for a loan or something, which I won't do). I think you have to give one month's notice so will need to remember to do that at the end of October.

I think I will find it easier to do it this way as I won't have to keep remembering to save.

So, now I will try and make sense of that on the spreadsheet!!
  • No 12 here, I am up to £32

we had about another £11 coins we could have added but no point leaving ourselves short for the sake of saving up for next year when we had already met our monthly target.
I hope I filled out the form correctly, it is my overall monthly savings.
  • Can I join please! Will save online and transfer 30 on pay day .... Every time I try a money box at home I end up using the money to pay the window cleaner and I give up!! £19 so far for dec 2014 ,,, good luck and happy Christmas all!
No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!
  • £1.10 put away for today and all up to date. I will declare my savings at the end of December although part of me doesn't want to work it out. At the moment I'm not missing it when I put it away and I can't see it in the pot either so it almost doesnt exist and therefore I'm not tempted by it . But of course it does exist and its very exciting to think next Christmas will be paid for.
  • My quid's in
