Biggest problem we seem to be having at the moment is finding quality (well ones my wife likes always prefers pure cotton) flat sheets and not these horrid "fitted" things.

House of Fraser do those too, and I am also a fan of the blue cross sale :D:

I only buy cotton now and I have to say we managed a decent nights sleep most nights during the summer when it was very hot. My latest set as yet untested came from Sainsburys and was also in the sale.

Another vote here for TK Maxx. Great quality sets that I can afford. They have some good designers and great thread count selections. I used to be a next and M & S but feel the quality has went downhill. Also I'm another non ironer - life is just too short.

I only ever buy 100% cotton and imho, they really do need ironing.

I've had a couple of sets of 'Hotel' bedding from Dunelm, Egyptian cotton and washed very well (but needed ironing). Bizarrely, it said 'do not tumble dry'.

Anyway, as they are getting towards the end of their life, I bought a king sized duvet cover & 2 pillowcases (as a set) from BHS. 300 thread count and £24 (reduced from £30).
They're OK but not as good quality as Dunelm.

Then I found a fab set in Wilko!

Buttermilk colour with a fine shadow stripe, 100% cotton sateen 400 thread count. Comes with 2 Oxford pillowcases and 2 housewife pillowcases. £40.

If they'd had a different pattern, I'd have got another set, I like to have a bit of a change, even if the basic colour is the same (Ivory/cream).

I also bought a matching super-king flat sheet.

All the above though have buttons, not poppers.

:o Hmmm, have 3 duvet covers, 2 smooth matching cotton ones which were unused and abandoned in a suitcase of unsold bedlinen by the bins at a bootsale and a brushed cotton one which Mum bought at a jumbly for 20p.

I'm 50. Lifetime expenditures on duvet covers thus far - nil.:p

House of Fraser. But only in the sale.

I got two complete king size bedding sets, flat sheets, bottom sheets, covers and pillow cases there just last month and the quality is excellent

Although not cheap, the 70% off made them affordable

I buy the majority from TK Maxx /Homesense, occasionally Dunelm Mill, but I find them expensive compared to tge same quality in TK Maxx.

I only ever buy pure white for my bed.

  • I always buy mine from Amazon. Some have buttons, some have poppers. They wash lovely,no ironing needed.I buy the reversible ones,as I like a different pattern on each side.
Also get my flat sheets and pillowcases there as well.I used to buy sheets from Wilkinsons, but they only have fitted ones now,i prefer flat sheets.

    Not in our Wilko.

I bought a super king flat sheet less than a month ago.

They had single, double & king flat as well.
  • The last set I got was from Amazon - can always guarantee a good bargain on amazon.

The time before that was online from thebeddingcompany.co.uk - they have a few nice sets and free delivery!

On the highstreet - Matalan and Next always have a good selection of bedding. John Lewis is a little on the pricey side for me if i'm honest!
