[IMG][/IMG]Found a stray cat have put details and pics up on animal search UK.

But ( and very embarrassed here) I put female but is it a neutered male?

How do you tell? Does a male still have its bits dangling?
Obviously I don't know so can someone enlighten me.

Am waiting on my pet carrier to be brought back so I can take it to vet to be scanned for a chip.

Many many thanks in advance

Btw its a sweet but noisy little thing and if no one claims it I shall keep it.

I shall now attempt a pic in case anyone knows it.

Might help. If I were you, I'd contact all the rescue places in the area as well. Doglost.co.uk also list missing cats so you could try there too.

Are you sure it's stray and not just having a wander around? Have you tried a paper collar?

Cheers can't get to its back end because its tail has been broken and i think that's why it really does not like being picked up. Still am pretty sure its female.
Have done the local vets and various rescue places, all to no avail til I can get it checked for a chip.

Did put a paper collar on it, however it hasn't left the house since it came inside and the collar waiting til it wants to go out again. Have asked about locally ( even the mad cat lady) but no one is missing a cat and its possibly been dumped going by what I have heard. if what I heard is true.

  • Ask the vet to tell you if its male/female and sort its tail out.
Thanks for helping it, could you keep him/her yourself if needed?

Can and will keep if no one claims it. However if I take it to vets and they fix or do something with broken tail, I don't want and cannot pay any bill. And most certainly if it ends up belonging to someone, I do not want a bill.

Will update tomorrow when seen vet. Cheers everyone.

The RSPCA will pay £60.00 towards vets treatment if its a stray. Hopefully it will be chipped and can return to its owners.
If you cant afford to pay and are on qualifing benefits then you may be able to register it at the PDSA. If you are unable/unwilling to pay for vet care then please rehome it as its not fair otherwize for it to suffer.

I hope you get your carrier back asap as the cat needs to see the vet asap because of its tail. If the carrier will take a while to come back to you, can you ask to borrow one from a neighbour? It's not fair to let the cat suffer. As much as I understand you don't want to pay for a vet bill if the cat is claimed, but s/he needs treatment. I don't think it would be right to keep the cat if you can't afford it.

You're very kind to take the cat in for now. Hopefully the owner will be found soon.

The carrier is back now but got to wait til vet opens.

If the cat was in pain I would have found a way to get it to vet already. However its tail has been broken some time ago and healed badly/never fixed. It has a lump near the base and its obvious it was broken at some point, but its not hanging down and not causing pain.

I really do hope the owner is found soon because I don't like to think anyone thinks I am being unfair keeping it, simply because I don't have a load of money to pay a vet bill. If I was to keep it I would insure it.
My previous cat I had for 15 years until last year.

TBH, it doesn't look like a definite stray to me.

He/she looks to have a good coat and the white bits are very clean.

Well done for caring, I hope you find his/her owner.
