So I'm guessing that the only real difference there is the purpose (which, in Clarkson's case, was not "unrelated", because he was making a point.), since...There's a massive difference between sharing bank details with customers and suppliers and publishing your bank details in a national newspaper for purposes completely unrelated to receiving payment for services.
