Morning all,
up nice and early today... no choice really as a delivery man hammered the door down. 4 new tyres for 'he who works' car. Ive stuck them in the veranda and the the smell of rubber has taken over most of the house. Vile smell. I'm hoping he will move them the weekend. I don't think he is planning on putting them on the car for a couple of weeks or so.
Weather awful, just as well I don't need to go out.
Just the usual daily chores to do, most completed already. Left over pulled pork for tea, I'm going to try incorporating it as the meat part of our meal.
Spoke to my eldest son last night. So pleased he is well (and still alcohol free).
Onwards and forwards,

Good Morning everyone, another sleepless night here for me too, Docky very unsettled but not by anything discernable to me so spent it on the sofa doing damage limitation, I think we're going to have to see the senior vet at the practice and have a level, realistic and unemotional discussion about how much longer we can keep the lad viable. Best scenario is the medication is causing the anxiety and confusion and changing to something else will make his little life happy again, worse fears? that it's another tumor or dementia and that it will only get harder for him, and us, to cope. Can't do it today, just too tired but tomorrow if we're up to it I'll make the appointment. Rock and hard place time!!!
It's grey and very wet and windy here today, had been since last evening and it feels cold even though the thermometer shows it to be mild indoors. I'll try to persuade him out for a walk this afternoon and then hibernate for an hour if I can, seems like a plan. Look after yourselves, stay warm and stay dry if possible, Lyn xxx.0 -
Just a quick post to send feel-better vibes to Docky and to Cazziebo's dog.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Afternoon All
Wasn't around much yesterday as it was our 41st WA. Still trying to decide who needs the largest medal
:D We had a lovely walk along the coast in the sunshine, and then a meal out in the evening with 7 friends.
Today has been a little wet and overcast, I actually have jeans and a cardi on, though no heating, much different from crops and a thin top yesterday. Never mind we have to remember it is winter!
Just chilling today, tea(dinner) will be whatever is in the fridge when I look, it will be just over 2 weeks until we set off back, so need to clear and use up. and know what we have.
((hugs)), spoons, positive vibes all round, to be humans and pets. Take care everyone. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Had the luxury of sleeping in till eight as we do not have to go to the hospital :j
Managed to coax DH into eating two boiled eggs and then a few hours later a tin of chicken soup. Will nip out later to get vanilla complan and add an energy drink to it as that is about 550 calories in itself. New pyjamas are in a small size and have told him we will get him back to a healthier weight just as soon as we can.
Found a shrug online that might be perfect for dd's bridal dress and it is in the sale. Also found nice china set for other dd who is getting her house sorted before moving in. Ordering a few kitchen bits and bobs for her as I know her colour scheme and it is not a very personal choice IYKWIM.
Hilstep
I am so pleased you now have a safe and comfortable wet room.
No idea what to make for tonight. Might pop into butcher for mince and make burgers with salad and a bun. Have a butternut squash and toying with the idea of using it for a veggie curry as an experiment.
Fingers crossed my usual throwing of things together works out tonight.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all,
Lashing rain here with no sign of a letup, hope that DS1 has an easier commute today...20km took an hour and a half yesterday, he is not used to traffic like that, but its just for a week so I expect that he will survive. He is 43 today, DD1 will not be 44 until 23rd Dec, so have twins at present!
We are having chicken breast, carrots, mushrooms and steamed potatoes for dinner, followed by whichever cake people fancy, so easy meal.
Have begun to plan Christmas in my head, will be out of action from 9th Dec so need to get stuff done....I know that but cant seem to get it into action, really need to kick myse lf in arris.
Lyn....positive vibes for Docky.
Hugs to all who could do with one, take care and stay safe

Hi everyone,
Congratulations Donnygal.
Lyn, it's so hard to make that decision isn't it - we went through it last year. Positive vibes for you.
I'm very excited - DD rand from Sri Lanka, BF has proposed (I actually knew he was going to so have been on tenterhooks for a couple of days). They hope to get a ring there as she wants a sapphire and they produce the best. I think I'll go down to Gatwick on Thursday evening to meet them and see the ring.
I was up at 6.00 this morning which is not like me, I cleaned the bathrooms before I went to work. Just going to get on with some sewing now if I can put my mind to it.0 -
Afternoon all,
It's been a beautiful day here today. Loved getting the washing line dried.
Cleaned through this morning but stopped to watch the Cenotaph at 11.
The curry I cooked in the oven (casseroled curry) yesterday worked really well but I would put more spices in as they seemed to weaken substantially with the longer cooking. I have enough left over for my dinner tonight as DH and DS2 are off to Crawley to watch football.
Saw the first part of a good series on ITV3 last night called Unforgiven. Anyone else see it? It's a bit of a thriller with some paranormal thrown in.
Have a good evening.0 -
evening all
had a productive day. kitchen and bathroom had a good clean. washing done. living room sorted and floors all swept and mopped
DS1 went on a school trip to the woods and its been a wet and drizzly day so came home nice and muddy  DS2 is doing well with his potty training considering he is only just two. a few accidents but having more trouble with the potty sticking to his bum and the spilling contents everywhere :rotfl:
DS1 requested chicken, chips and mushy peas for dinner which is handy as DS2 will eat that although he will have roasties instad of chips. gravy too.
want to make some flapjacks too. havent had them in a while.
LW - rather jealous of your cruise
RR - hope little dog is still improving
DG - i reckon DH needs the biggest medal

Hello everybody,
I made Butternut Squash, tomato and feta fritatta today to use up some veg before they go off. Now that I have converted to thrift trying to use up all store cupboard and freezer food.
We have some tough money times ahead finishing renovating house, wedding (also thrifty where I can) and OH has a new job which means no pay until January probably as he has to pay back some training costs to old employer.
I plan not to buy any meat 'til Christmas and just get oddments from Aldi and fresh veg from our local farm who are v. reasonable. I have lots of tuna to use up so if anyone has any recipes that aren't salad I would be grateful!
Thank you for welcoming me on Sunday. It's not going to be easy but I hope to crack this!0
