Carphone Moan
Last Monday week (17th) I ordered a phone over the Internet from Carphone Warehouse and supplied my credit card details. Later in the day I received an email from them stating that the this model of phone was out of stock, however, they expected some more in the next 7 days and would email and telephone me if this was not the case so that we could discuss options. I checked with my bank over the Internet later in the day and no money had been taken out via my credit card. I was disappointed but decided to wait. As I received no communication from them by today (9th day) I rang them. No, the phone was still not in stock, they did not know why I had not been contacted and by the way my account had been debited a £100. Yes they would cancel my order but I could wait up to 14 days for the cheque to arrive. They have due to their incompetance put £100 of my money out of reach for 3-4 weeks by the time it is cleared. I am just angry that these large companies can play fast & loose with peoples time and money and not receive any form of penalty for their bad business practise.
I hope this will go a little way to redress the balance.

If this means you have reached your limit and cannot now use your card if you contact your credit card company and explain what has happened they may give you a temporary increase of your limit by £100 to tide you over until the refund reaches your account.0
