How many clothes do I have? Waaaaay too many
My friend saw inside my wardrobe/s yesterday and was absolutely amazed how much I've got. I was too embarrassed to show her the shoe cupboard...
Coat-wise, I've got a Superdry windcheater that is useful for most days, a massive winter parka, a few lightweight jackets and blazers, a kagoul, a 'dog walking' coat, a smart grey woolly one, another Superdry coat and a gilet. It's therapeutic to write all this down, ha.
OP - just use the money mantras, if you can afford it and it will get used then treat yourself0 -

How many coats (and other clothes) do you own?
I have a fleece/waterproof combo for day-to-day wear (bought last winter), a smart black woollen coat (bought 2 years ago, but not worn often), a smart grey lightweight coat (about 10 years old but still looks good), a brown leather jacket (3 years old, much loved), and a denim jacket (about 7 years old).
Is this normal? Too many? Too few?
I have similar arguments with my wife
I have one coat and that certainly is too little, its too warm for the current weather, not smart enough for the City but too smart for digging the garden etc
The Mrs has a formal long black woolen thing, a smart leather jacket, a tweed jacket thing and a padded thing from Uniqlo. We've been arguing over 3 years if she should get a Barbour quilted jacket or not as she likes it a lot but "intends to lose weight" and so doesnt want to buy it this year until she has (still saying the same 3 years on)0 -
I'm like you OP , I've seen coats I like but I have a knee length one it's quite nice . I have a heavy knee length one for when it's freezing . I've got a few jackets etc but if I don't need another coat I probably wouldn't buy it even if I liked it . I do wear most of my coats at some time in the year .I give things I don't need or want anymore , to the charity shop . A coat I liked was £165 . I've got coats , do I really want to spend that much on another . The answer was, no .0

It depends how much space you have. I've recently got rid of 2 coats because our coat hooks in the hallway were getting so overcrowded.
I now have a waterproof waist-length jacket, a waterproof longer coat, a down feather padded winter coat, and a lightweight fleece. I could do with a smart woollen coat for spring and autumn but EBay hasn't turned up anything suitable in my size. The report button is for abusive posts, not because you don't like someone, or their opinions0 -
I have what seems like squillions of coats/jackets. A long black wool coat that gets worn once in a blue moon when I need to look smart. The same with a suit jacket. Denim jacket, 2 black macs (different lengths), waterproof 3-in-1, a very warm waterproof jacket, a waterproof thinner jacket without a hood (what was I thinking?) and quite a few others. I also found myself looking for yet another waterproof jacket as the 3-in-1 is filthy and I'm not sure I cba to clean and re proof it. How bad is that for MSEing? Oh, and I've sold 5 coats at car boot sales.
I've got about 20 pairs of shoes, boots and wellies, some of which I can't wear at the moment due to joint problems. But they look really pretty and I can't bear to part with them. I sold lots of shoes, but the ones I have left are just too nice to get rid of.
Handbags, I have 5 of. One for dog walking when I do very long walks and 4 others I interchange as and when.
Clothes in general, I have probably too many. I have some gorgeous posh dresses I've never worn or only once. I'm forever hoping I'll be invited to a "do"0 -
I have an obsession.
I have a wardrobe of coats & outer jackets & a wardrobe of a combination of suit type jackets & cardigans. This is in the spare room.
I have a double rail of jeans & trousers.
A single rail of skirts, a single rail of dresses, a single rail of shorts & 3/4 lengths.
A double rail of summery type tops, a double rail of shirts, blouses & work style tops, a double rail of jumpers & heavier tops.
I have a tall chest of drawers just for underwear & nightwear.
And a shoe & boot habit too.0 -
One (new) winter coat, a rain Mac I bought from a charity shop, my Regatta for heavy rain and a waterproof padded thing.
I hate wearing coats!! I have two gilets and countless hoodies though. I prefer to layer hoodies when it's cold- today I'm wearing a black Jack and Jones hoodie with a black gilet.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Probably too many. :rotfl: but I especially like having lots of coats. After all in our climate we need them for at least 9 months out of the year.
I'm now 63 and like many people my age I grew up with little, I can remember in the winter of 1963 when it was bitterly cold all I had was a gaberdine school Mac. No scarf, hat or gloves. GAwd it was cold. Still walking 3 miles each way to school probably kept me from freezing.
As I child I had very few clothes so once I started work and had some money in my pocket I started building up a good wardrobe. Coats were my top priority.......
The other thing I was always short of was knickers. Not any more. I usually have at least 30 pairs at any given point. :rotfl:
I did have a recent wardrobe cull.;)0 -
I have one proper (winter coat), about 3 hoodies, and i have no idea how much other clothing i own. Probably about 15 dresses, 10 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of shorts, 5 skirts, around 20 tops and god knows what else :eek:This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
