Question is, will the bar still do the job it was intended for? [ ie, pumping, and turning the valve?]No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0

I have a jack similar to that shown. Used it for years for occasional d.i.y. stuff. It's a "Powerlift" and the handle is supplied slightly bent from new. So it is intended to be bent.
Why does it look knackered? There's only a bit of paint missing in places, I'd say from normal light use.0 -
Bent handles very useful with modern cars, with these low plastic body bits......No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0

Same design yes. Bit like a wheel. Mostly round because the design works so why change it...
Same quality. NO.... Cheap ones can only be made cheaper by cutting costs.
I recently read a review on jump packs. They tested the one i have. They asked the supplier if they can sell it any cheaper. The suppier said only if we fit a useless throwaway battery that barely lasts a year.
Its cheap for a reason.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I use a 20+ year old, cheap draper jack. Few problems over the years. Low oil and an airlock. Currently leaking oil so possibly needs a new O ring. All easily fixed. I still have the instructions which includes a useful troubleshooting guide. Handle bent from new!. I stick it under the car and it raises it. Unless I need more height or lower entry its pointless changing it.
Having a car slip while being jacked is user error. Either the jack was poorly placed or the car was too tightly chocked preventing any movement while being raised.
A new jack won't make a difference.0
