Leaking Nappies

Suggestions needed, hopefully helpful rather than cheeky!!

My lo's (19 month) nappies are leaking every night (for the last 5 nights)
He sleeps on his front about 80% percent of the night and I think this is the problem because his pj top seems to be wet at the bottom. I've tried the extra absorbency ones, I've tried a different brand. I can't go up a size because it says 36 lbs plus, and he's only just over two stone.

I've changed him before I go to bed and it did help but it's not really something I want to continue moving forward because it's waking him when I do it.

He still has milk before bed, I'm thinking maybe to start lowering the amount and seeing if that helps.... wow this has just come to me as I am typing. Maybe that will do the trick?

Any experiences or suggestions welcome.

keep changing brands and start dropping his fluid intake later in the evening

Do you check his penis is pointing down seems an obvious thing but is sometimes the cause.

Stick a value sanitary towel inside nappy at front end where most wet to increase absorbency.

Try some reusuable nappies with a booster in just buy couple cheap or second hand ones from eBay/Facebook selling page.

Switch brands if they are leaking.

I'm currently having the exact same problem with my 15 month old. Subscribing. We currently use pampers at night, which have been great up until recently. We use tesco or aldi during the day but haven't worked at night.

yeah we found one that worked with my DS until he was about 13/14 months and then had to change brands

DD was fine - i think it may be a boy thing lol

With my eldest (now 14years) I found the only brand that didn't leak was pampers. One day at toddler group conversation turned to nappies and to my surprise all the rest of the mums had had issues with pampers leaking and used huggies (I'd tried them on son - they leaked!). Astonished I looked at their babies compared to my own (they were all walking so 12 months+) and noticed they were a different shape to ds and I guessed this is where the issue lay. Possibly if your son has gone through a growth spurt you might find he's now a different 'shape' and nappies that suited him before, no longer do. Keep trying some different brands.

I never had an issue with dd, she got on fine with all brands, so I used the cheaper tesco own brand ones.

We used tesco value pull-ups for bedtime. DD not a heavy wetter but DS was - he could be saturated some mornings, but the cheap pull ups seem to contain everything. Less than £1.50 a pack too, what's not to like?

I found most pull on pant ones better for overnight than the sticky tab ones, to be fair. These just don't have pictures on them...

Sorry if I'm being thick but I don't get the comment I've made bold. Are you saying you won't go up a size because he's not the right weight? The weight on nappies is a guide, it doesn't make allowances for the shape of your child (every one is different).

I had the same issue with my son but, despite being the weight for 5+ he had chubby thighs so the seal wasn't great. I was recommended by a friend to move up to a 6 (he LB is 2 weeks older and was having the same problem) and we didn't have another wet bed after that.

I understand your concerns and it happens to me with both my kids.It could possibly that the brand your are using is not suited for your baby or it could be that the size of the nappies is too loose for your baby. It is usually a toss between the two reason.So have it checked. I don't recommend frequent changing if it is not really wet. We are not addressing the main concern if we are doing it that way.

Sounds daft but I've heard a couple of mums say they put the nappy on backwards if the child is sleeping in their front and leaking. Obviously I'd also try other brands and going up a size too.
