NPower?

Phoned up this morning to get an appointment to change my meter - not ticking over to night rate so no heating!). Got told he would try to get me an emergency appointment and ring me back to let me know what happened. An hour later an no call back so I called them to be informed that it's not an emergency so I have to stick with the original appointment time given. It was noted on my file so he had obviously just not bothered to call me back.
I've had the experience of people not bothering to call me back from my insurance company, too, but it always gets me particularly ratty. If you say you're going to do something you should do it!Proud to be OS :j0 -

Have they got any better recently?
I've obviously heard of all their recent billing problems and their awful service but is all that behind them now?
Thanks,
I was with them for about one year and never had any issues. My dd was set up to take a variable amount each qtr and I supplied meter readings every month.
I have decided to go back to them for my gas because they are offering a good deal and again paying by variable dd.0 -

Same here! I've been with them for four years and never had any problems.
Variable DD is the way to go. Just keep the dosh in an interest-paying current account and you are quids.....well, pence-in.0 -
Do not touch with a bargepole!!!!
Still disputing a bill that is now over 6 months old and no I don't want comments telling me to contact customer services - they are well know to me after the dozens of phone calls I've made to them!!!0 -
No. Their meter reader read my neighbour's gas meter as mine in 2 consecutive quarters, and there was no apparent sanity check on the bill - which came out at £700.0

Noooooooooooo my son is in dispute with them over a bill they want him to settle for the period 6 months after he moved out of rented accommodation 18 months ago, even though he has provided proof he settled when he moved out.
During the dispute they have transferred the case to their debt collectors who are imbeciles.0 -
My experience of npower is very bad indeed.
When I asked to switch to them they switched a neighbour's electricity account into my name and left my electricity account with my original supplier. This was entirely their fault, I gave them all the correct information.
OK mistakes happen. The real problem was trying to get them to fix the problem. It is over a year so far and it still not fully sorted. And they are still saying one thing and then doing another.
Of course if they had not made any mistakes I would probably have thought their service was fine. You only really know how good or bad a company's service is if any problems arise. And remember the problems might arise for reasons nothing to do with you.0 -
As with most businesses it is usually only the people who have problems who make comments.
I've been with them for many years, despite doing checks to see if anywhere else is considerably cheaper (it's not worth moving for £10 possible saving) and have had only two minor problems :
A letter implied that one had to change tariff the day after a fix ended, but doing so meant a day at standard rate. I rang to complain, even though the cost was under £1, saying that this multiplied by customer base was a huge amount and was given £30 credit.
The other case was when a meter reader's reading was not recorded online, so I appeared to have over £600 in credit. I knew what my actual situation was (they only charged standing charge and zero units), but told them that someone less savvy may believe the sum and spend money they would later need to pay a bill. The figures were rectified on the spot and , again, a £30 credit given.
I was about to leave, last month, but happened to check their November 2015 tariff, which was third best (and within a few £s of two others, so stayed and transferred early as the tariff was lower than my present one. The new one may be even better (I have some figures to look at, as gas has gone cheaper over all , but electric has gone up in standing charge but down in unit cost) and if so I am free to change as leaving a tariff is penalty free.0 -
Hmmmm... Based on the vast amount of complaints I am reading and seeing I may just leave them for a while longer. Thanks.0
