Can I claim compensation for a flight delay of approximately 6.5 hours and/or baggage delayed for 48 hours, this was on the 25/10/2014 at Heathrow (Heathrow Disruption After IT System Failure Hits Passenger Baggage Processing). The connecting flight was missed at Cairo to Sharm el Sheikh, we arrived about 6.5 hours later. I have searched the flight number (MS123) for the replacement connecting flight, but it doesn't seem to exist. This flight was also delayed, initially for refuelling, but then technical problems.
I have just sent a letter to Egyptair asking for compensation, I will keep you updated.

have a good read of the last link although I cannot see an EU comp claim here
  • I have heard nothing from Egyptair, I contacted the CAA and they told me to wait a bit longer and if I do not receive anything from Egyptair contact the CAA for help. I don't believe I will receive any compensation, but I will keep trying.
  • I contacted the CAA again after they told me the wait 12 weeks after sending epyptair the letter. They said they will now contact epyptair!!!

not sure why you are wasting your time with the CAA. Did you read the document in the link in post #2? section 5.12 will be relevant.
Even if they find in your favour they cannot force the airline to pay you so you may still end up having to take them to court
