Giving Young Kids Coke

Options
Today I saw a young kid of three or four with a can of coke, not even diet coke, but the standard one full of sugar and caffeine.

Perhaps I am overreacting, but to my mind that is just wrong and the parents giving their kids this are incredibly irresponsible. What do others think? Thanks.

  • Oh what a load of tripe!

This kid could just have had a treat of a can of pop that their parents only allow every now and then, as in harmless moderation.

ps Top marks for your avatar though.

A few years ago at a Harvester I saw a mother fill up a baby bottle with Pepsi and pass it to her sprog.

This is probably why all Jeremy Kyle types have no teeth.

Where is the money saving element in this?

I was more offended by the woman i saw earlier shouting at her kid that it was a "a little bast@rd" then hitting it over the head twice

A bit of coca cola seems better in comparison :(

Multi Millionaire Simon Cowell eats there so you can hardly stereotype who choose to dine there.

OP - I agree with you, it's offensive to see young children drinking fizzy drinks.....This is why this country is going to the dogs.

How the UK is today is apparently down to giving children fizzy drinks? I think things are a bit more complicated than that!

There's just as much sugar in a glass of Orange juice, are you equally disgusted when you see children drinking that?

I'm sure most of us had pop, fruit juice and sweets as children and we all survived.

Its a vent so I would say it's on the right board. A lot of the boards in this sub section of household are not dedicated to just moneysaving topics eg the marriage one is filled with people's personal problems with their partners or kids.

In fact quite a large number of vents on here are not about moneysaving eg asda Norwich thread
