Live chat agreed to remove two defects for me, but they are still there Totally lost the will to fight any more. Two more defects for item as described last month and no idea why as they were new items and described correctly

eBay has become such a pain now, and I just can't be bothered to fight every defect any more.

I prefer Live Chat as I have a record of what I - and they - have said if I need it. I tend to use it at night when businesses are otherwise closed and it is usually a 5 minute wait.

They removed two defects for me on we'd, I'm just waiting for them to fall off the dashboard.

Keep a record in a document of all the information - item number, buyer and the feedback they left. They when you are sat at your computer just wait to be connected and paste in the information. More often than not, they'll help you out. And if not, you have the information to try again next time.

There's also a feedback removal link that's pretty good - ill have posted it on here before, but don't have it on my ipad. I'll post a link later.

I did this - cheers for tip ! Got all my " representations ready " and cut and pasted when through - she wiped off not only the defect but the feedback - which was positive but made a negative comment as buyer never read description properly ! I'm well chuffed - my stars are all golden and sparkly again :)

Not being overly helpful, but in my experience a lot of eBay buyers are thick.............
As evidenced by many threads on here, so maybe it is better to point out that a non-oblong item is also not a live snake or a toblerone.

Campdave, if this was RL and not the internet I would embarrass you by giving you a hug

Less than 3 minutes in and I have got confirmation that the feedback will be removed within 24 hours and the defect will follow in 5-7 days.

    For campdave :kisses:

I've always advocated live chat - but never got that :rotfl:

I find it easier - as you have time to think what to say when they ask you a question - and have what they say in writing.

If they say 'no' - you just end the chat and start again with someone new - although i did panic once when it was the same person - i hung up lol :o

I had a similar experience selling my phone. It said EE in title, Simlock EE in item specifics and EE in description.

    Feedback neutral - "wasn't unlocked".

Ebays wisdom "you did not mention it wasn't unlocked, so buyer was right to be upset"

My response "i didn't mention it wasn't a space ship either - should i have put that too?"

    They ended the chat :D

So basically ebay do not consider the item description to form part of the auction..when did that happen?
I guess when it became the norm to buy via smartphone using apps which don't display the description prominently. I recently got positive feedback saying "as described, good deliver, but unfortunatly [sic] it is not boxed". I stated in the item description that although the item is new and cellophane wrapped it is not boxed. Checked my seller dashboard and I have a recent defect for "item as described" stars. The category in which I listed doesn't have a boxed/ unboxed Item Specifics field. I guess I'm supposed to put that in the title rather than using the limited number of characters to describe the item itself. The trouble is that from the customer's perspective, eBay defines 3 stars as "neither accurate nor inaccurate", so my customer who hardly ever sells on eBay probably had no idea that their feedback is a "defect".

Yep and awarding three stars means the red " warning" that comes up when you press one or two stars doesn't come up ( I did a test last week ) so the buyer can leave a middle of the road star and we get a defect ! I would try live chat for yours - you clearly said unboxed - it's definitely worth a try or two !

Is this the same useless live chat that people moan about?
They are useless at everything else EXCEPT removing poor feedback and/or defects, in my experience!
