ebay really do believe buyers are thick

I'm furious at ebay again. I have an item, I wish I could say what it was as it would make this so much easier- but I really can't as it would identify me. This item photographs well, but lets say it is trapezoid but looks oblong- regardless of how it is photographed. So i put up half a dozen photos, but in case it wasn't clear I also put boldly in description that this is trapezoid in shape and not oblong.
I got a positive feedback but with a 1* for description that says 'lovely item, but it is trapezoid not oblong'.
I phoned ebay- apparently, and this is on a recorded line, buyers are not expected to read the description- so the defect stands as my auction may have misled them. What
apparently it needs to be in the item specifics- not that this item is trapezoid, but that it is NOT oblong.
Apparently everything it isn't needs to be an item specific, I admit I lost my temper and told her it was going to be a very long weekend if I was going to have to amend 300 listings to list the thousand or so things that my items are not- including not being a hairy maniacal Tibetan mountain goat, or a London Bus. Apparently that is not the point and I merely have to say what it might be but is not...yeah, I'm confused as well.
The defect cannot be removed but I am allowed to email and harass the buyer to remove it. So basically ebay do not consider the item description to form part of the auction..when did that happen?

Try live chat, they've been pretty good at removed stuff for me recently.
Admittedly there can be a long wait to connect, but if you're sat at the commute already you have nothing to lose. Type the information into a document and save it, and then you can try again on another occasion if you don't get the answer you want.0 -

Campdave, if this was RL and not the internet I would embarrass you by giving you a hug
Less than 3 minutes in and I have got confirmation that the feedback will be removed within 24 hours and the defect will follow in 5-7 days.

They removed two defects for me on we'd, I'm just waiting for them to fall off the dashboard.
Keep a record in a document of all the information - item number, buyer and the feedback they left. They when you are sat at your computer just wait to be connected and paste in the information. More often than not, they'll help you out. And if not, you have the information to try again next time.
There's also a feedback removal link that's pretty good - ill have posted it on here before, but don't have it on my ipad. I'll post a link later.0 -

My last defects came off after about 3 days. But don't forget the defect report is only updated on Wednesdays, they should show (as off) on your dash before that.0 -
