We have just had an offer accepted on a house that we thought was out of our budget.

Some people NEED to move, so are willing to take lower offers.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Feeling frustrated :wall:

No houses are getting listed, last ones seem to be mid October and now everything has sold in my price range and nothing is left!

I do have an offer accepted on a house but vendor can't find a house to buy and doesn't seem too bothered anyway so that also seems to be a dead end at the moment.

My buyers haven't kicked up yet, they are FTBs in rented so are being patient for the moment.

All I can hope is that either some houses come to the market or some people who are desperate to sell will reduce their houses into my price bracket in the coming weeks.

Will I need to write off house hunting until January now?!

In my area I notice the number of properties for sale is falling, I use one Rightmove search area and the total number of properties for sale has fallen from the high 300s to the high 200s over the last four weeks.

Properties are still coming to the market though the numbers are falling and many of the properties for sale have been on the market for a couple of months and are either overpriced or in poor locations. There will always be some people who won't lower their expectations.

Higher range properties seem to be sticking in some areas ( over a million) though 2 properties nearby sold for well over a million last week within 3 days of listing.

The area I look in is still moving fast with many properties selling over asking because of the property shortage and that is only going to get worse over the next few months with dwindling supply. So any property which is Ok and in a good location will sell quickly.

Location remains the key factor but keep looking and some properties will continue to come to market.

I'm interested in when people think the market picks up again? We're contemplating moving in the new year and we're just finishing up the odd jobs around the house to get it ready (and getting a cleaner!).

I read somewhere that the 1st weekend of the new year is the busiest for rightmove views, but I wouldn't expect that many new sellers to be online by then? Just trying to work out when we should put ours up. Obviously we wouldn't want Christmas tree etc up in the pictures.

The only reason I'd put it up earlier than Christmas now would be if our situation changed- for example, I have applied for a job nearer to the area we want to move to. If I were offered that (interviews at the end of the month) we'd probably go on the market asap
  • My house is for sale now but only because my prospective buyer pulled out. I've had lots of viewings this weekend. I was thinking of taking it off the market for a couple of months. Fingers crossed I get a good offer this week.
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

I have just put a property up for sale. Timing is due to tenants having left. We planned to leave it till spring to sell, but we have put it on as there is absolutely nothing similar on the market and there's almost time before Christmas if anyone fancies trying to get in beforehand. Thought we might just pick up a buyer in the next week or two. If not we are happy to take it off and put it back on in the new year.
