Nice! Love finding money. Jeff Yeager (American 'ultimate cheapskate') recommends doing the same in coffee shops with sofas

Evening Campers,
Back from holiday & catching up with everything.
Today's money saving efforts:
*Grocery shopping came in on budget.
*Spent the £50 of vouchers I won on a lovely jar of local honey & stocking up the wine rack.
*Red pepper hummous reduced to 65p. Cheap lunch!
*Free coffee in town using fully stamped loyalty card I'd forgotten about. Did not buy cake.
*Bought a few Christmas presents including some snow globes (the ones you put your own photos in). They were £6 each when I priced them up a couple of weeks ago, but reduced to £3 today. Bought an extra one to put away for someone else next year!
*Selected some photos to fill an album as gift for elderly relative. I'm re-gifting the album as it's a very pretty one I was given ages ago & has never been used.
*Picked up a bucket of windfall apples & used 1lb of them to make braised red cabbage. It's currently in the slow cooker & smelling so autumnal. Recipe makes plenty & it freezes brilliantly.
*Mr f rescued laptop from the very brink of death. We reckon it's on its last legs but we'd hoped not to have to replace it till after we've paid the bathroom bill.
*Have got heating on now, but fire didn't go on till 6pm & I'll be monitoring temperatures from the storage heaters as turning them down even 1 setting makes an impact on my weekly meter readings.
*Cast on another sock.
*Washer loaded for cheap overnight laundry.
*Cut November's grocery budget a little to help offset the fact that I forgot to budget for cattery fees while we were away.
*Caught up with projects on 2 online forums I'm on at the moment & discovered I've got another £5 Amazon voucher from one of them....that's £15 in a month for not that much input.
*And one to make you smile......20p saved on admission to ladies' loos in town this morning as the woman in front paid & the door stays open long enough for 3 people to get in.....one of whom was little me!! A free wee! Result!!
More sock knitting now. Hopefully more money saving tomorrow.

Saturday morning & am pottering around. Going to jump in the shower now as going out with dgd, bff & my guideson today. Meeting at 11.30, going into town for a short while them going to the wildlife park (have annual pass so free for me & gdg :T) Take drinks & bits for lunch - didn't end up going to the WLP as it looked like it was going to rain so had lunch (£6.95) and went to the park
While in town buy some PJs for dgd from primark as she has had a growth spurt and now of hers fit her!
As we haven't had to pay for childcare this week we can afford it :T got 4 pairs of pjs & 2 pairs of leggings for £15 :T
Drop off clothes dgd has grown out of at CS
Tonight going to fireworks tonight if not raining too much £6 for oh & I and free for dgd. didn't end up going as dgd was teething and wanted to go to bed at 6!
[STRIKE]Have checked banking, worked out finances & shifted some funds. Doing really well with being frugal this month![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Hang up washing on line and put on heated dryer later.[/STRIKE] Do another load & hang up
Put chicken in SC for dinner
[STRIKE]Go to farm shop and buy a sack of potatoes for £5 (will last us through the winter!)[/STRIKE] ended up getting a sack for £4 as it was £5 each or 2 for £8 so got one for work
Polish & vacuum bedroom
Sand windowsill in lounge - I didn't do this but oh painted the walls
Think that's about all I'll manage! x
Right need to finish yesterday's list
Going into town to do xmas shopping with savings throughout the year. With a bit of luck I will get it all done today as we don't go crazy at Christmas and only a few people to get token gifts for
Meeting up with a friend and going for Sunday dinner. Going to pub where a lovely roast is £7.50. Will share mine with dgd
Bake some brownies & some french bread pizza/brussetta for dgd's packed lunch during the week

Good morning everyone and happy rememberance Sunday.
A quick update from yesterday's list:
Walked to library, got fully dressed for rain - and it didn't rain while we were out! DD did enjoy some puddle jumping along the way though. She picked up a lot of new books including an Ordnance Survey World Map and book in both German and English - I was a bit puzzled by her choices, but whatever gets her interested. (The map was the first thing she got out once we got home).
I did put the heating on, but only for a couple of hours.
Ironing done including some items ready to photo for eb@y
And, I managed a NSD - yeah!!!
Foxgloves - I love the free wee comment. We went to Blackpool Illuminations last month and between 5 of us no one had a 20p for the toilets. The boys managed OK (I won't go into details) but I was bursting. At the next set of toilets we came to DH tried one of the doors and it opened - I've never been so happy about going to a public toilet!
Today's to do list:
Need to make a meal plan/shopping list for the next week, I will use as much as I can that I've already got in, as I've got to be very careful for the next couple of weeks.
Myself and DD will go to the Rememberance Service (OH will be getting on with decorating, so can't come with us)
The service is at a local park, so weather permitting, we'll stay and play for a little while and take some of the old bread in case we can feed any birds.
On the way home we'll get the shopping, so it won't be a NSD
I need to get some more items listed on eb@y while I've got some free listings. Bob - I too find it is hit and miss on there, I've had items that haven't sold at 99p two or three times and then, when they do sell, they go for a few quid. The majority of items I sell are low value but as you say, every little helps, and if you sell enough of them, it is worth doing. Plus it's decluttering the house.
Try to limit the heating being on
I may count up my sealed pot. It's a little earlier than the planned opening day (27/11), but I'm going to use the money towards decorating, so will need it before this date anyway. I'm very excited to find out the total.
I think that's it for today. I'll update later.
I forgot to mention that yesterday I unsubscribed from quite a few marketing emails, following some advice posted on here (not sure if it was on this thread or another). I think every day when I go through e-mails, I'll do this now. They are just trying to get me to spend money I don't have and if I don't know about the offers, I will be in blissful ignorance.
Bye for now, hope you all have a lovely Sunday.SPC # 348 2014-£169.07/2015 - £156.89

Morning :j
Yay! It isn't raining, so outside jobs today :T
Clean out chickens - love to see happy chickens and they don't like the mud Done
Move some garden pots from the back garden to the front - my role here will be supervisory as my brother is here and he can help OH to move them to where I want them :rotfl: Duly supervised
Put away the garden table, bean canes and other bits to get ready for winter Done
Put the bird feeders back out and fill them up Oops forgot this, will do tomorrow
Love the idea of unsubscribing from marketing emails - I must start doing that instead of just deleting them as I currently do
Cook a roast dinner later Done
Didn't manage a NSD as I was hoping as I bought a few packs of spring bulbs from the pound shop. They won't be there much longer as the shop is now filled with Christmas tat. I got lots for less than £4
Hope everyone has a nice day

Morning All
You were all up early.
DNM -enjoy your roast dinner out. Lovely to have a treat & you deserve it.
GettingOrganised - I am fond of a McWee myself if needs must. Most places have one. And no one bats an eye if you stroll in. No need to pay to pee!!
On the Ebay trail I listed a beautiful gucci document holder for £15 last night. Stick a 0 on that to get what I paid originally but I haven't touched it in almost 10 years. Lots of interest. Fingers crossed.
Clooties Mum - thanks for the tip. Don't lurk come & join in.
Dawn - Digital decluttering is the best. I try to do some everyday. And spam texts deserve a special place in he'll in my humble opinion.
Me today.
1. Started the day with a bit of Jeff Yeager. He gave a brilliant tip which I've passed on to my husband. Apparently blowing on your razor blades after shaving, to dry them, makes them last 5 times as long. As we spend about £8 a month on razors I think this a great tip.
2. Have stayed in bed keeping warm for free
aka being lazy
3. About to wash my hair no poo style using just the juice of a lemon. Makes me feel so clean afterwards.
4. Find something lo or no spend to do for the day with the family.
5. Dinner from stores.
Little list from me today.

Morning, err afternoon all!
Some things we are to do today, which will be a NSD :j
Get slow cooker going with nice warming beef casserole (from stores) done
Lay underlay in the spare bedroom ready for carpet fitting on Tuesday* done
Make a banana cake from sad looking bananas done
check all financials done
watch the snooker later with dinner & cake for dessert done
*We bought underlay on line, its made of wool and other recycled materials, cost about £1.50 a yard, is far more eco friendly than the stuff you get in high street carpet wrong type shops, and soooo much cheaper! Easy to lay and saves on fitting costs as the carpet fitter only has to do the carpet and nothing else! Its called Envirolay - I bought the "own brand" version from the retailer but they sent me Envirolay anyway.

Smee xx
"done" far too much eating of cake!!Let's get ready to bumble! :rotfl:0
