Could anyone help with my DH,s Acer laptop please?
Had it about 18 months. Only used for comping and use Safari and sometimes Google Chrome.
Struggling with on 1 - 2 bars Internet signal for a few days. My laptop as full signal.
Have done all the usual scans but still the same so it keeps dropping in and out of Internet.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Is it definitely connected to the same network as your laptop?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

It might be worth updating the drivers for the WiFi. That will be slightly different depending on the operating system.
The basic steps are:-
Go into Device Manager
Check for anything with a yellow warning triangle (and see if you can sort that out or post it here at the same time)
Find the wifi adaptor and check for driver updates:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Could it be that you are using the laptops in different places of the house and therefore the signal received from the router is poor?
Have you tried updating the drivers on the slower laptop?Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those affected (Benjamin Franklin) JFT96...YNWA0 -
Sorry, meant to add, my DD has an Acer laptop( can't remember which specific one) and although excellent downstairs, it's not so good in her bedroom. She does stayed connected upstairs but it's slower.Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those affected (Benjamin Franklin) JFT96...YNWA0

Hi RMG1
I have done as you suggested and there were no yellow warnings. I updated the drivers and it is still the same.
Could it possibly be a broken part in my laptop do you think?BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0 -
Exact Acer model number? Seen this? (may be irrelevant - its a very old link) http://acer--uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11355/~/poor-wireless-connection-on-aspire-5250,-5333-or-5733%28z%29
I presume that internet speed degraded noticeably? May be worth confirming that with a cable connection that all is well.0 -
Have tried plugging in with the cable and I have a full signal but when I am wireless it goes back to 1 - 2 bars again.BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0
